Survivor party

So this weekend was our 6th survivor party, the weather unfortunately started our really wet and rainy, but it clear up during the day.

Get ready for a picture overload, and a few comments along the way.

The first competition was skiing, each team got 2 boards and some rope and had to walk from one end of the backyard to the other and back.
Here they had to flip a blanket to the other side while all 3 of the were standing on it.
Using a flyswatter as a racket, and a balloon as a ball. They had to get the balloon to one end of the backyard, switch player and back in the basket. If the balloon touched the ground they had to start over, though we had to change that, because it was too windy.
Throwing cards at a watermelon, they only had to get one card to stick, but this one guy was really good at it and had to show of:)
Hole in one... well getting a pencil in the bottle, but since we didn't want it to be too easy, each team had to have 2 players getting it in the bottle.
Building a Lego car, one had to guide and one had to build. We ended up having to stand between them, because of course they tried to cheat looking over each others shoulders....
Placing m&ms on top of a straw with another straw, this was guy actually super fast, the girl he competed with got none placed by the time he finished... maybe she was more drunk than him.
Who could eat 10 crackers the fastest without drinking. Well two of the girls started spitting at each other, and were disqualified.
3 finalist at the plank, though one guy didn't last long. He actually didn't get much of a chance to get up there, but as a referee you have to be strict, otherwise this last game will take way too long.
The final 2, we ended having them stand on one leg, jump from one leg to the other etc.
Here they had to touch the plank, and in the end she fell of and he won. It was actually the second time he won, he also won back in 2012.
 Celebrating with champagne...
And his very nice teammates throwing him in the pool. Well they were nice enough to let him get his pants of first.

All in all again another great survivor party, though thinking up new games is getting hard, so if anyone has any good suggestions please let me know!

A finished project

I have today off, and for once I really feel like I have got a lot done. This Saturday we are hosting our 6th annual Survivor Party, so Jonas and I started the day of getting our shopping done. When we got home we got things arranged, did a little cleaning and as I write the last load of laundry is being washed.

I also got around to take a picture of a cardigan I finished last week, though I haven't got around to wash it yet so it's rolling a bit, but I hope washing it will help. Sorry for the bad picture, this selfie thing just aren't something I'm good at.

I have now started a new project, a blanket for Jonas. I bought a lot of cotton yarn when we were in Turkey, it was a bit cheaper than here. At first I thought the price was pretty much the same as a lot of yarn here, but the quality seemed a bit better. I wasn't until I got home I realised that it was 100 g balls, instead of the regular 50 g. So it was actually really cheap.

The picture isn't the best, the colours are much better live, the part I have crocheted is more green.

Have a great day:)

Surviving Oktober Fest...

A little tricky title, but the last 2 weekends we have been partying. First we had our annual Survivor party and the weekend after our little street had an Oktober fest. So I'm actually looking forward to a weekend without me planning a party. This post will be a lot of pictures, so be ready for a picture overload...

As usual we had a red and a blue team, and the teams are always the same, but this year we had quite a few that couldn't make for one reason or another, so it turned out that the red team only had one girl and the blue team only had 2 guys. So the assignment they had ahead of time was the red team to dress up as an all guy team and the blue team to dress up as all girls.
The red team, with moustaches, beer bellies (some more natural than others) and socks in her/his sandals...
The blue team, girl power, though some of them needed to learn how to sit down in a skirt... crossing your legs is preferred...
Since it was our 5th year hosting this party, we had decided to make the games a "best of". We started out with a game where 3 people were tied together, they had to crawl under our trampoline, walk the plank etc. It was also the first game the first year, so it seemed fitting to have this starting out.

We also had them shoot goals blindfolded, this girl saved the blue team, she scored several times, much to her boyfriends disappointment (since he was on the red team and he wasn't doing quite as well).

Though the first time we had this game, the goal we had borrowed was smaller, so it seemed to easy, so we decided to put in a goalkeeper, whom of course also was blindfolded. This girl started out laying down, because most balls came rolling, but then one of them lifted them, and she started dancing laying down:)

They were also diving for apples... and golf balls, ping pong balls and plastic balls. It was just really weird seeing a balled guy in a skirt, and even if he had been told that he make up was waterproof... well not completely...
In between the games we had time to talk and have fun. The red team decided to improve on their beards, and used shoe polish to make them (I'm just glad it was me who had to get it of again). This guy and another guy talked my dad into driving them to the store because we had run out of Captain Morgan Rum, and both of them went there wearing their beard...

I doubt they could have talked her into going... but then again she was quite drunk so you never know...
They also had to eat different things with chopsticks, one of the guys were really lousy at it and they gave the victory to the blue team.
The final four, they had to pick up 3 pasta penne with a spaghetti. The slowest one lost, in the other games one had been voted out on the losing team.
The final 3, on the plank.

 The final 2, "Girl Power"

And the winner!

I don't have that many pictures from our Oktober Fest, so you will have to do with a picture of me in my lovely dress.

I ordered the dress online, and on the picture it looked like it would reach my knees, and well it didn't. Of course I didn't try it on until that night. I thought I was wearing nylons, but let's just say I have had shirts that were longer than that dress... so leggings were needed:)

If you made it to the bottom of all these pictures, well good job, and hope you have a nice weekend ahead of you:) Mine will be spent with friends, we have been invited our for a BBQ at some friends, who ended up not going to our survivor party because their son had been in the hospital. He got home the day before our party, but naturally they decided to stay home. I'm looking forward to seeing them again, and hearing all about their vacation (the we in the US for almost 3 weeks). On Sunday Jonas and I are going to Legoland with a colleague of mine and her daughter. So I just have to get tomorrows work day done, and a fun filled weekend is waiting.

A long promised update...

I promised an update... well honestly I don't feel much for blogging at the moment, so this post will mostly be pictures. I guess besides my vacation from work a vacation from blogging has been needed.

In the beginning of July (I think it was the beginning of July, it might have been the end of June) there was a big gymnastics event in our city. We went into town on Saturday, saw a little gymnastics at the stadium, though we didn't stay too long, since Jonas wouldn't sit still.
After seeing a show at the stadium we walked around, and ended up on the harbour, here they had a lot of events, like this slide into the harbour, a trampoline where you would jump into the harbour, kayaking etc. Best of all the weather was amazing, which just made everything more fun. I think all the people staying at the different camps were happy too that the weather was good, a week with rain would have taken the fun out of staying in a tent.
Jonas and I went to the petting zoo, we had to go one last time before my season pass ran out. Here he is with his favourite goat, number 22. I always figured number 22 was a male since it was a little ugly, but it turn out the number 22 has become a mum during this spring:)
I have had my knitting/crocheting group over. When we meet up there is always food on the table, so I decided to make my own strawberry pie, and it was delicious, I might make it a "Cooking with Connie" post at some time. I also made a Coca Cola cake, it contained both marshmallows and Coca Cola of course, but it was a bit sweet for my taste, so I will probably not be making that again.
Then came vacation time, we stayed 4 days at Frank's parents summer house on Fanoe. Probably the only 4 days this summer that the weather wasn't burning hot. Which actually fit us fine, the weather was still okay, and we spent a lot of time outside. I don't have many pictures from the trip, and Frank will probably hate me for posting this picture, so please don't look at his dirty socks;)
Otherwise out summer vacation has been spent painting the house... or well I have got some of it done. We went to Legoland on Monday, and the rest of this week has been spent preparing out annually "Survivor Party" coming up this Saturday, I can't believe it's the 5th time we are hosting it. A part of the preparation was putting up out goal, which Jonas thought was fun, so he played a bit of soccer.
Otherwise out vacation has been relaxing. I will try to get around to blogging a bit more when I start working again. Hope you had a great summer.

Survivor Party

Well this Saturday was our Survivor Party, the weather was amazing, and the party was great. We had lots of fun and I am all ready excited about next years party.

Here is a few pictures from the day. Ahead of time both teams were told to make a team drink. The winners would get brunch and the losers would get cornflakes and oatmeal.

The red team showed up with red sodas and popped a strawberry down the bottle:) They said their new style was the didn't drink this year.
The blue team made jello shots and a some kind of mystery drink. Needless to say the blue team won, which disappointed the red team, they thought it was their turn to win the brunch... but it doesn't go by turn, so the blue team had their well deserved brunch. After the blue team was named the winner, the red team said "screw it we will have a cold beer".
The first game was a relay of 3 little games, the first part they had to roll a ping-pong ball down ruler and hit a shot glass.

Second they had to move 3 m&ms using a straw...
and the last part they had to move an egg from a top of a bottle to another bottle only using a string. The red team won big time here, though the ruler the blue team used turned out to be a bit crooked, so he never got the ball in the shot glass.
Another game they had 3 cans of fruit and had to stand on 2 of them and move the third one, and that way the could walk over the finish line. The girl on the red team was really great at it, and the guy on the blue team was really drunk, so he gave up quite fast...
In another game they had to move water from a bucket and fill a glass, again the red team won...
We also had a "balloon dancing" game. 2 people from each team should compete with a balloon between their heads, going under a ladder etc. again the red team won.
Here they are getting pasta penne on a spaghetti, I just love her face in that picture.

We ended up with a red team member winning this years survivor party. I know it seems like the red team won everything, but actually they won pretty much the same amount of games, but the funniest pictures are from the games the red team won.

As you can see we had an amazing time, and I can wait for next year, which will be our 5th time. We are thinking about making it a "greatest hits" and use some of the best games from all the other years.

Survivor weekend is coming up...

This weekend it's time for our annual Survivor Party, I can't believe that it's actually is the 4th time we are hosting it.

I'm getting really excited about it, and I think we are pretty much ready for Saturday. My parents are arriving on Friday, and will help with the last minute things. And they will be here Saturday to watch Jonas and help out a little.

One of last years games was moving cans with spaghetti

The best part is that the weather looks like it's going to be amazing. Nice and sunny, and not rain in sight, couldn't be better since we have a lot of outdoor activities. This is the one time a year we all get to behave as kids again... well with alcohol:)
a race on stilts

So stay tuned for new pictures from this years survivor party sometime next week:) And have a nice weekend, I doubt I will have time to blog again before the weekend!

Survivor Party 2011

This Saturday we had our annual Survivor Party, and we were so lucky with the weather, it was probably the only day with sunshine and hardly any rain in the last 2 weeks. Ahead of time the two teams usually get an assignment, and the winner will get the brunch and loosers will have cornflakes. This year their assignment was to find a leader on each team, and dress up the leader. The red team chose to dress one of the guys up as a female politician from the labour party. On his purse and boots they had written Gucci, which was a big story years ago because journalist didn't think she related to her voters. The red team should have won, but then again last year the blue team should have won... but due to me being pregnant we had another fun way telling them, and the red team won last year, so this year we named the blue team the winners.

The red team eating their cornflakes and oatmeal... they were definitely not satisfied, but that is part of the game:)
The blue team got brunch with eggs, bacon, pancakes etc. It's funny how people can get mean when it get to this... all couples are split up, so if the wife is on the red team her husband will be on the blue team. So one guy on the blue team yell to his wife "aren't you mad we didn't eat at home..."

Well after breakfast in was on to the games. We had found a lot of inspiration from the show "A minute to win it" which Meghan recommended, after she told me about it and I found some games... well then they started talking about it coming on Danish TV this fall... This game they had to hoist an m&m laying on 2 pencils, by pulling yarn behind their ears.

Here they had to transport empty beercans from one chair to another using a spaghetti... the red team lost again... they couldn't stop laughing, so they couldn't get the spaghetti through the hole.

The blue team was quite fast at getting the hang of it, maybe the blue hair helped.

The red team all had wigs or hats, the rest of the team got tired of my brother not hearing what they said and thought it was because his wig was in his ears to they gave him a haircut... they said he always wanted a mohawk, so he got one:)

Well Jonas has a "nice" uncle who thought he should try his hair... doesn't he look just a little cute?

One of the games they had to walk on stilts... again the red team lost, on the picture the blue team is all ready on their way back...

They also played soccer with "binoculars" made from empty toilet rolls, I think it was more fun to watch than play, but that was one of the few games the red team won.
Here they had to move cotton with their face... no use of the hands, well except to put vaseline on their faces, also a game that was more fun to watch that play I guess...

Between games it was time for drinking and having fun... and well I don't know if the red team should have chosen this guy as their leader instead... he got pretty drunk during the day, and ended up switching clothes with one of the girls...

The winning team with their champagne...

The losing team... but honestly if you didn't see the champagne doesn't the red team look like they won? I definitely think they were drinking more and maybe having more fun... at least they did more crazy things...

I just love these parties... and I think the reason so many of our friends love them as well is that once a year they get to behave like kids and play games... and just be foolish.

I am all ready looking forward to next year, and have a few games planned all ready:)
