12 MOC February

I know, I know, again a long pause from blogging, I have all the intentions to blog a couple of times a week, but since I have found an app for my Ipad that makes it easier blogging, well then I have to turn on my computer, and I have to admit after getting my Ipad I hardly ever use the computer anymore... so if anyone has any good suggestions for app for blogging let me know, I think I have tried every free app and haven't found any I like yet.

I have been crocheting a bit, and I hope I will get around to taking some pictures this weekend so I can show you what I have been up to. I will leave you a little picture of my February project for the 12 Month of Crochet challenge. I will not tell you what it is, that you will have to guess or wait until I have finished the project.

I hope you are all still doing well. How do you blog? On the computer, Ipad, phone or something different?

I'm still here...

Yeah I'm still here, though it seems like the last few weeks have flown by. It feels like I have been on the go all the time. I've been to 2 home parties with children's clothes, and Jonas doesn't even know how spoil he is!

Last Wednesday I met up with the girls in our knitting club, which I just love, we have an amazing time. Two of the girls from my knitting club actually is also blogging, though in Danish, but I guess google translate can help you out, or you can just enjoy their pictures, since they mostly blog about their DIY projects. So check out Susanne  this dress is actually for me, isn't it cool? and Camilla.

On Saturday morning Jonas had a swimming class, we decided to start him up again this fall, though he is not too happy about it, I guess he has forgotten how fun he used to have their, but it has been better for each time we go, so we will keep it up:) On Saturday night we were at a birthday party and Jonas slept at Frank's parents house all by himself (he is a big boy now). He had enjoyed himself and of course he got spoil rotten. And we got to sleep in late on Sunday... well by 9.00 am I had been awake a few times, and gave up sleeping anymore... though the party had taken it's toll on my voice, and by Sunday I hardly had any voice left, which is really annoying, though Frank thought it was pretty nice having a hangover and a wife without a voice:)

Well that will be all for now, I hope to blog a bit more this weekend:)

In 5 days I will be in...

Edinburgh, and in 6 days I will meet up with her again and I get to meet her little baby girl. We first met in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2002, we were both there as a part of our studies. I can't believe it's been 10 years, well it's not 10 years since we last met, that is "only" 8 years ago. Wendy came to Denmark to visit me and another Danish girl we also got to know in Slovenia. So does this count as a blogger meet up? Since I knew her before blogging I don't think that it counts.
Okay it wasn't all studying, we had quite a few parties too. It's me on the left, Wendy in the middle and on the right is the other Danish girl.

I'm super excited about going, though not nearly ready to go. I will be working all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and until 4.00 pm the latest on Monday. So packing has to be done in between. Though I have written a list so I think I can pack fairly fast, though you really need a lot more when travelling with a kid:)

So have a great weekend everyone, and hopefully I will be able to blog again before leaving:)

So much for setting goals...

A week ago I made it a goal to blog at least twice a week, and it's now Thursday and the first time I'm blogging this week... and I don't have much to blog about.

My back is back to normal, I ate pills all weekend and Monday too, but since Monday I haven't had any pain. On Monday I found out that I was actually included in our company's health insurance, and if I ever get the same problem again I can go to a chiropractor, and it will be free! If only I had known on Saturday! I always thought it was only the bosses, that were covered, but it turns out sales leaders are as well. That's really a winner:)

Well as I said I don't have much to blog about, but hopefully I will be back once again this week with something more interesting:) Until then have a great weekend!

Easter is getting closer...

I know I haven't been all that good at blogging lately, but I do hope that it will get better soon. At least for 1½ week now Jonas haven't been sick, but it seems like time flies, so when I'm off work I'm trying to get everything done and spent as much time as possible with Jonas. But I really hope to be back to blogging more often soon.

After Jonas has been tugged in the last couple of week the energy haven't been there to blog, but just relax on the couch and maybe do a little crocheting... and I have made this Easter chicken, and it has a friend on the way...

I don't really decorate much for Easter, but it was a nice break from making squares for my blanket, which is coming along pretty well:)

I will keep this short, and I will aim to blog at least twice a week in the future, and hopefully sometimes even more:)

What did we do before the internet?

I have a hard time remember my life before the internet, I doubt I could live without it now. But back in 1998/1999 when I was an Au Pair in Maryland, USA I didn't even have an e-mail account... I wrote and received a lot of letters and I loved it. I loved seeing the mail man driving up our street in his little white truck, I love the mailboxes with the little flag (we don't have that in Denmark), I loved being able to send my letters from the house, just had to put them in the mailbox and raise the flag and the mail man brought them with him.

I got my first e-mail account after arriving home from the USA, which I thought was a great way to stay in touch with people. That was pretty much my first meeting with the internet... well not exactly I had been online once or twice in high school, but the internet was incredibly slow at the school and we weren't allowed to use it if it wasn't for school work...
Well since then a lot has happened. I got a facebook profile at some point, I can't remember exactly when, but I have uploaded the first pictures in the fall of 2007, so it was probably around then I got on facebook... honestly how did people stay updated while on maternity before facebook? I am so glad I can stalk my colleagues on facebook and stay updated:)

On October 30th 2009 I wrote my first blogpost, and who knew anyone would actually read my blog? Every time I get a new follower I might actually do a little happy dance:) I now have 21 followers, which compared to a lot of other blogs is nothing, but I'm happy for every single one of my readers. I love blogging because I get to know people from around the world, and learn new things.

Just this week I got a new cell phone, and I am actually now able to go online on my phone (yeah I know I'm really far behind in that area). My relationship with my phone used to be a thing that belonged in my purse and every once in a while I had to remember to recharge it... now I can download different apps etc. A whole new world to me:) Who knows... someday I might even get a Twitter account, which I still don't get the big deal about....

Twitter or not Twitter I don't think I could live without the internet today, I have a hard time not checking my email or my facebook several times a day... well that might change a bit when I start working again... well that was just a few of my thoughts, have a great weekend:)

My first award!

I got my first blogging award, and I'm super excited about it:) It was passed on to me by the sweet Alicia over at The Red Deer. Alicia has to my pleasure recently returned to the blogging world after taking a little break. I love reading her blog, though I usually get hungry reading her great recipes. Some of you might remember that I last year tried baking lemon cupcakes, and to say the least she is a lot better at baking than I am:)

Well onto the award, which means I have to answer a few questions.

1.Why did you create the blog?Well I started blogging because I had started reading Wendy's blog. Back in 2002 I lived in Slovenia for 4 months during my studies, which is where I met Wendy. So when she started blogging I loved reading what was going on in her life. So after a while I figured I would start a blog on my own, and that is how it all started!

2. What kind of blogs do you follow? I love reading blogs that is a bit more personal, where I get the feeling that I get to know the person behind the blog.

3. Favourite make up brand? Well I not a person who spends a lot of money on make up, but I still have a whole lot of it. I used to work in the perfume department, and every now and then we got free stuff. So my favourite make up brand would probably be L'oreal or Maybelline. Partly because I like their products, and partly because the sales person who came to our store was the nicest girl. She was always happy to help out and always brought great stuff for us. Yeah I can be bought:)

4. Favourite clothing brand? I don't really have a specific brand that I go for, but I love a good bargain. I guess I would rather have 4 pairs of cheaper shoes, than 1 really expensive pair:)

5. Your indispensable make up product? I guess beside a mascara my favourite product is Max Factors Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow. After discovering that product I pretty much wear eyeshadow everyday, because it's just so easy and fast putting on:)
via

6. Your favourite colour? Well it depends on what the colour should be used for, but I like earthy colours, but it also depends on my mood, so one day I can't stand pink, but on another day it just has to be pink:)

7. Your Perfume? My favourite right now is "Daisy" from Marc Jacobs, but it usually changes over time, so the next time I'm shopping for a new perfume it might be something different.

8. Your favourite film? One movie I always seems to come to mind is "A long kiss goodnight", if it's on TV I will be watching it. I don't know if I will call my favourite movie, I don't think I have a real favourite.

9. What country would you like to visit and why? Can I pick more than one? Well I would love to visit Australia and New Zealand, but the plane tickets there are just so expensive! Besides it will probably be a few years before we dare taking such a long plane ride with the baby. I don't have one specific reason to why I want to visit Australia and New Zealand, it has just always been a wish of mine, even before our Prince married an Australian girl. By the way they just had twins yesterday, congrats to them:)

10. Make the last question, and answer to yourself. Hmm that's hard.... what do you look most forward to in 2011? Well that's an easy question to answer:) I'm super excited about becoming a mum in 5-6 weeks. Just getting to enjoy the whole motherhood, staying home for a year, what could be better?

Now pass the award on to 10 lovely bloggers, and here is who I'm passing it onto: Wendy, Erin, Kimbirdy, Meghan, Kattrina, Krysten, Salt, JMay, Agirl, and Karen. Looking forward to seeing your answers:)

Ready to relax...

Finally the weekend is here, I hate that the pregnancy is making me so tired! But tonight I'm staying on the couch, my husband went out with some old friends from University, so I got the TV all to myself... though nothing really good is on, so now I'm "watching" "Dancing with the stars", not so much watching as it is more background noise...

Tomorrow we are going to the first Christmas party this year, which I'm looking forward to, because by then I will have more energy and will be ready to party all night, well at least I will be able to enjoy all the good food.

The pregnancy has changed a few things in my life, both good and bad! I believe my temper has become a bit more like in my teen years... not a good thing! I have become more crafty... or well I now finish things, not only just start them... a good thing, because I made this and my baby boy is going to be wearing it after he is born...

We are still discussing names, and some people say you don't know what to call him until he is here... I don't know if they are right. But I do know I'm not naming him Gareth.... Wendy! Thanks for the suggestion, but it ain't happening;) I also had a colleague suggest that I would name him Gustav, which is a quite popular name here now, but that ain't happening either because I do believe Gustav the cat will be a bit annoyed having to share his name... and I doubt we need to piss him more off, because he will be annoyed that he will not get all the attention any longer.

On another note I just realised that tomorrow it will be 1 year since I started my blog... wow a lot have happened since, back then I just started writing thinking no one would ever read it, and no I do have a few regular readers, and I'm happy you have been sticking around, and all your comments makes me smile and really feel appreciated, so thank you all:)

I hope you all will have a wonderful Halloween weekend, which I by the way wished would be celebrated more in Denmark... so no dressing up for me this year!

What a disapointment!

I'm so disappointed you wouldn't believe it. The party last night had been blown up to being the biggest thing ever... and what did we get? I don't know where to begin... first we had to sit on benches at the tables, so nowhere to lean on, and my butt is killing me today... not the best place to sit, and definitely not the best place to sit when being pregnant! When we arrived at each plate there was 1 beer, 1 alcoholic welcome drink and 1 bottle of water and then there were wine at the tables. So this was all we got to drink for 3 hours till the bar opened. I must admit the great food didn't taste the same when drinking water. I of course had plenty of water, because no one wanted that, but we had hardly begun dinner before people ran out of beer, and a lot of them don't drink wine... so after negotiating for a while they would open the bar for 10 minutes for people to get beer, but no I couldn't get a soda!

When the bar finally opened some colleagues went to get drinks and asked for a coke for me, which the bartender couldn't make... what the f*** you can make rum and coke, but a plain coke... what is up with that? So I was drinking water all night, I didn't care to try another bartender. Though I found some coffee at one point which was nice for a change.

Then we all thought some big name would come and perform... but no! We got 3 cover bands, the first one was so lousy, I can't begin to describe them... the next one was actually really good, but we were all a bit too disappointed to give them credit for their great job! The last one was a Michael Jackson cover, and honestly... he wasn't that good!

And then there was the little thing about the toilets, how does 21 toilets for 2800 people sound? Like a lot of queue... yep about half an hour before you had to go you would have to stand in line... when you're pregnant you have to go quite often, so imagine where I spent most of my evening!

Uhh sorry for the negative attitude, but this was really not what I expected. If I had only known I would have stayed home, and not having been tired today, we got home at 5.30 this morning...

On a happy note then I just realised that this is my 100Th post:)

A great Sunday

I'm feeling fantastic today, I had a date with my neighbour at nine this morning to go to the gym. I might end up being one of those people, it was actually quite nice, so I might end up in good shape:D On the way home from the gym we went by a factory outlet, that were selling cheap scarfs, stockings, bathing suits, jewelery, watches etc. Though this time they didn't have that much to temp me, so I only ended up with 3 pair of leggings and a watch for only 95 danish krones (about $19).
Now have the rest of the day to do whatever I want, usually I would be cleaning, but my really sweet husband cleaned yesterday, and did most of the laundry. Its raining though so I'm not going to do any outdoor activity, but maybe I should finish arranging out wedding pictures.
Ohh yeah the other day I wrote a dear 16 year old Connie letter, after being inspired by Wendy's letter, I mailed to her, and she posted it on her blog, you can see it here.

My first post!

Well this is my first post, and I guess I now have a blog, yeah... I've been reading red boots blog since her first blog. I've met red boots for the first time in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2002. I was there as a part of my education, and work at a stock broking company (boring, but time to write a lot of e-mails). She was also there as a part of her studies, and we met through the student organisation. So we partied, shopped, went on daytrips and ated a lot of pancakes with nutella and banana at Café Romeo.
A little about me: In 2000 I moved to another part of Denmark to start my studies. I studied Marketing Economy, and the last 4 months of my studies I went to Slovenia. Before moving I had said that I would move back to my hometown after finishing school, but oh dear, during my studies I fell in love, not with school, but with my husband. So when I came back from Slovenia we moved in together, and that way its been ever since.
In 2005 we bought a building lot, and got someone to build a house, which we moved into in April 2006.
We love to travel, and over the past years we have been to Prague, drove across the USA from New York to San Francisco, drove from Larvik to Nordkapp in Norway, and this year we went to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
This will be all for my first post, but I'll be back...
