A finished project - and just in time

This spring or early summer I realised a friend of ours were turning 50 in the end of November. She had asked at one point if I would make her a blanket, because she really like the one I had on the couch. I said sure, just buy the yarn and I will make it. So far she hasn't bought yarn, but I have...

And now I have finished the blanket, that she will have for her birthday. I figured that would be a great gift, and I would have a project to do. Though I have to remind myself never to make hexagons again, squares are so much easier to sew together in the end.
Though I'm really happy about the result, and hopefully she will be too:)

A weekend of birthdays

On Thursday my brother turned 40. I called to wish him a Happy Birthday, and asked where our invitation was. He said that our mum had said that I was working, so he figured it was no use inviting us, to which I replied it wasn't until the weekend I was working. So we had to find a date later on for us to celebrate his birthday.

Little did he know, and on Friday afternoon we went to a bar close to his home. Some of he colleagues had arranged a surprise party for him. It was the best, he had no clue, and he was speechless when he arrived. He had even complained to one of his colleagues that "My sister isn't coming for my birthday, she is always working!" We stayed at the bar for a few hours, and then all of us went out for dinner. I was a really nice afternoon/evening.

Saturday night I was at another 40th birthday party, for a friend of mine, she was having an all girls party, and we had a fab time. But I so tired yesterday, and unfortunately I had to work at 1 pm till 10 pm.

I have today of, and I had considered keeping Jonas home, but I figured I could use a little alone time, get a few things done around the house, and I have to be home because there is suppose to come a guy and fix our Internet, since it is not always running too great. So I figured Jonas would have more fun with his friends in daycare.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My vacation is over...

I can't believe I just spent a week of my vacation time, and I haven't really done much. Well Jonas and I have been hanging out playing with his cars, trains and watching Disney Junior.

On Monday there was a storm around, and several times I looked out in the backyard fearing the our trampoline would fly away, I knew it was secured, but every once in a while I couldn't help thinking okay now it's flying... so today we took it down, because I woke up during the night hearing the wind, and couldn't fall asleep again because I kept worrying about the trampoline... so hopefully now I will get more sleep:)

My parents came to visit on Wednesday, and on Thursday my mum and I drove to Århus (a big city about 2 hours away) to do some Christmas shopping. My mum pretty much finished her Christmas shopping, and I got some of mine done, but still have some left that I couldn't or wouldn't buy there in case they needed to be exchanged.

On Friday we were all attending my father in law's 70 birthday, he had a big party, and Jonas was entertaining everyone there. Otherwise it's been a very relaxing week. Several times I figured I would blog, but it's easier to do when Jonas is sleeping, so when he was napping I was thinking I will do it tonight when he is in bed, and when he was in bed I figured I would do it tomorrow when he is napping....

We will end the weekend and my vacation with dinner at my parents in law since my mother in law has her birthday tomorrow. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Baby, birthday and block party...

It's been a crazy week, well busy at least but also fun. On Sunday we visited some friends of our who just had a baby 2 weeks earlier. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of sweet little Kaya, but I did get some pictures of the Giraffe and the blanket I made for her.

On Tuesday it was my birthday, and when I walked into the office on Tuesday morning this was the sight I was met by.

Don't I have the best colleagues? On Tuesday night we went out for dinner, and had a really lovely evening. Wednesday was a national holiday so I was just at work for a few hours in the morning to help opening the store.

This weekend we have a block party, or more of a town party. There is soccer games, music, bouncy castles for the kids etc. We went there this afternoon/evening and Jonas loved the bouncy castle.

Tomorrow evening there is a big party we are attending. I'm working from 7 am till 4 pm both Saturday and Sunday, so I'm not going to party too hard. Though I will miss out on more of the games, but I bet Jonas and Frank will be at the bouncy castle most of the day tomorrow:)

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm still here...

Yeah I'm still here, though it seems like the last few weeks have flown by. It feels like I have been on the go all the time. I've been to 2 home parties with children's clothes, and Jonas doesn't even know how spoil he is!

Last Wednesday I met up with the girls in our knitting club, which I just love, we have an amazing time. Two of the girls from my knitting club actually is also blogging, though in Danish, but I guess google translate can help you out, or you can just enjoy their pictures, since they mostly blog about their DIY projects. So check out Susanne  this dress is actually for me, isn't it cool? and Camilla.

On Saturday morning Jonas had a swimming class, we decided to start him up again this fall, though he is not too happy about it, I guess he has forgotten how fun he used to have their, but it has been better for each time we go, so we will keep it up:) On Saturday night we were at a birthday party and Jonas slept at Frank's parents house all by himself (he is a big boy now). He had enjoyed himself and of course he got spoil rotten. And we got to sleep in late on Sunday... well by 9.00 am I had been awake a few times, and gave up sleeping anymore... though the party had taken it's toll on my voice, and by Sunday I hardly had any voice left, which is really annoying, though Frank thought it was pretty nice having a hangover and a wife without a voice:)

Well that will be all for now, I hope to blog a bit more this weekend:)

Brunch

Last week was pretty much a week of eating... I guess in some ways I was celebrating not having to update you guys on the babyweight challenge.

On Thursday we went out to brunch at a cafe down by the harbour. In different cities in Denmark they have recently started selling what they call sweet deals, you are offered all different things to a really good price, and you got to be fast because there is only a certain amount for sale of each deal. We had bought a sweet deal for Brunch which was 50% off...

via the cafe we had brunch at, stolen right from the website

We had the best brunch, the service was so great and we really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was great so we did go for little walk at the harbour, though thats the thing... the harbour area is still very much industrial.... they are starting to convert it to a usable place since there is hardly any fishing done from Esbjerg anylonger, but I'm sure it will be great when it's all done.

via yet again a stolen picture from their website... hey I was eating = way too busy taking pictures:)

Yesterday was my sister in laws birthday and she had invited us for brunch at her apartment, so once again I was eating... it was a really great brunch, and she had baked the best brownies (I might have had more than one).

So after eating the whole week I was a bit afraid to step on the scale this morning. Yeah I still keep track on my weight every Monday even if I'm not updating you guys... but I had lost almost 1 kg since last week... had I only known that brunch was the way to go I would have been skinny by now:)

Have a great week everyone!

Wonderful weekend!

I just had the most wonderful weekend this weekend, and it isn't over yet! We started Friday evening having dinner at my sister in law, it was her birthday yesterday, but since we wouldn't be able to make it on her birthday, she decided to celebrate on Friday. There is nothing better than being invited out for dinner... mostly because then I don't have to cook myself...

She had cooked a delicious dinner, and we really enjoyed ourselves, and we got to meet her new boyfriend, whom seemed really nice, and we are looking forward to getting to know him better.

My sister in law and me on our vacation in Singapore, I must admit my drink was a virgin... though we fooled people when posting it on Facebook, and at that time no one knew I was pregnant.

My parents in law were there too, and I do believe they are a wee bit excited about being grandparents soon... because my mother in law had been looking for a baby duvet, but hadn't found one. But just before leaving for the birthday she had seen there were one on sale this Monday at the department store I'm working at, so she gave me money so I could buy it myself. And I got some money from them and my parents as a subsidy to the stroller (they didn't know I all ready bought one), but I can easily spent those money on something else:)

On Saturday I started cleaning out the closet at the baby room, all that stuff we have saved, and for what? So a lot got thrown out... I can't believe all the winter jackets I actually had... though not many of them will fit this winter, and even if the did I probably wouldn't wear them... so now we are giving my mum them, so she can take them to the Red Cross second hand shop she is working at once a week, and then I can feel like having done a good deed!

Saturday evening we went to a friends 30Th birthday party, which really excited me, because once again I didn't have to cook, but I know he is the best chef... and I wasn't disappointed. He just came home in July from spending 2 years in Singapore, so off course we had to start with a Singapore Sling, and as the amazing host he is, he had made virgin Singapore Slings for me:)

Today I have been cleaning another closets, and now will spent the rest of the day relaxing with a good cup of coffee... or probably more.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend...
