On June 22nd we are going to my cousin's wedding. A friend of mine is making a new dress for me, the dress will be brown with a hint of pink. So what shoes should I wear, I don't have any dress shoes in either pink or brown... well I should write I didn't have...
I figured my wedding shoes had been in the closet since we got married, because when would I ever wear a pair of ivory satin shoes again? I have played with the idea of dyeing them, but so far I haven't been able to decide on the colour, probably because I didn't need any fun coloured shoes so far.
So I decided to try to dye them pink... I got some Dylon textile colour, I made it my Saturday night project. I was a bit scared that they would turn out more tie dyed, or that the colour wouldn't stick to the fabric, but I figured that either they would stay in the closet in the boring ivory colour that I would never wear or in a awkward pink colour I would never wear, or I could be lucky and would turn out great.
It was super easy dyeing them, and I was pleasantly surprised, the result is really good, now I'm just a little nervous that they are not the right colour of pink. I have a little fabric piece from my dress to be, and it's not completely the same, but depending on the light they are pretty close. So on Tuesday I'm going to try the dress, so I will bring the shoes and hopefully I can use them.
