What a week...

Well the last week has been everything but quiet! Thursday I had the team building course which turned out to be a smooth path course, so not so much team building, but with the weather right now it was fun and useful. Since I wasn't leaving until the afternoon Jonas was didn't go to daycare as early as usually. I was in the living room watching TV, he was playing with his cars, suddenly he ran out of the living room, I figured he was going to find some more toys in his room... well after a while it was awful quiet, and then you know it means trouble...
He had gone into our guest room, which is also used for storage, so please don't look at the mess in there. On the dresser there was a box of chocolate, so he had pushed a box of cat litter in front of the dresser and stepped up on it so he could reach the chocolate... well you can't say he is dumb... I thought it was so hilarious, so instead of telling him I had caught him red handed I snapped a photo of him first. Afterwards I traded him some grapes for the chocolate, which he was equally as happy getting:)

On Friday he went to daycare again, and around 10.30 she called that he had a fever. Luckily Frank was working from home, so he could go get him. I was working all weekend, and by Monday he didn't have a fever any longer, so I send him to daycare since I had a meeting a 11.30 otherwise I had the day of. At 10.30 she called that he had a fever again... I picked him up, and then dropped him of at my parents in law. Tuesday he went to my parents in law again, but he wasn't really sick, but we figured we would play it safe. Then today he went back to daycare, and at 10 she called again he was sick... Frank picked him up, though this time he also behaved sick, not only the fever.
So sitting in the couch watching Tractor Tom on the tablet is a great way to spent time when you are sick. Now we have arranged for him to go to my parents in law again Thursday and Friday, and hopefully he will be completely over his sickness by Monday!

Hope your week has been a little bit better than mine:)

Being prepared...

I'm the person who hates being late when going to a meeting, if the meeting is at 10 I will be there at least 5 minutes earlier, preferably 10-15 minutes ahead of time. I also hate it if I'm not prepared, there is nothing worse than getting questions that I'm not prepared to answer. To be honest I hate being in a situation where I don't know what to do... so why don't I know first aid?

Well it should say why didn't I know first aid? Because yesterday I had sign up for a first aid course at work. It was all free, and after having Jonas I must admit I feel it's more necessary to know what to do if something happens.
I really enjoyed the course, I had feared it would be 6 long hours, but they went by so fast. Our teacher was amazing, and we really had fun learning. I might not be a 100% sure of what to do in case of an emergency, but I don't feel like I should fear trying to help out. As our teacher said "you can't do anything wrong, except for not trying to help". We all thought that if someone had hurt their back that we should move them. But as he said if they aren't breathing you might save their life doing CPR, and honestly if that makes a person survive don't you think they will be happy to have survived? Then we must work on other damages later on, but if we don't do CPR there might not be other damages to work on since the person won't survive.

Talking about being prepared brings me to this afternoon. I'm going on a team building tour this afternoon. I have no idea what is going to happen, all we know is that we have to show up a 1.30 pm, we will be both inside and outside during the day, and we will be home sometime between 10 pm and midnight. So of course I hate this! Part of me really doesn't want to go, but I also know myself good enough to know that when we are in the middle of it I'm glad I went.
But before I go I think it's time for a nap, I feel extremely tired after yesterdays exciting first aid course, but I ended up with a massive headache due to to little coffee. I was suffering from a coffee withdrawal, I honestly don't think I drink that much coffee, but I drink more than I did yesterday.

Have fun everyone:)

A little treat...

I figured that since it was my week of I was going to be good to myself, so on Tuesday I went to brunch with a colleague, which was really nice, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Jonas was in daycare for a couple of days, but on Wednesday I kept him home, and since he is all about trains and tractors, well we went on a train ride. We only went to another city close by, only 9 minutes by train. We walked a short walk in that city, but since it was raining pretty bad we took the next train back. Jonas loved it, he really liked driving the train, and all the excitement made him really tired, so he slept a 3 hours nap afterwards:)

On Thursday I had made an appointment to get a Thai massage.... maybe I should have looked into what Thai massage really is! Well this was a mix of a regular massage and a Thai massage. She started out stretching my legs, the she almost jumped up on my back! I was pulled and stretched in ways I didn't think was possible, but combined with the regular massage it was really good. I felt really good afterwards, everything seemed to have been loosened, and I felt tired in the same way you do after a good workout. Overall it was pretty good, though I wish I had been prepared for what a Thai massage is:)

Well I'm enjoying my last day of my vacation, or now I guess it's just the last day of the weekend:)

Cooking with Connie

Time for another cooking with Connie post. This time I made "Bacon & Cheese muffins", yep you heard me!

For Christmas my husband got a Bacon cookbook from my Brother and his girlfriend. She is working at a company that makes bacon, well they make a lot more, but that is what they are famous for. So far it's only the employees that have the cookbook, but it should be on sale soon too. When Frank saw her bacon book he just loved it, and she just knew that she had to get an extra one for him for Christmas. Denmark is a big bacon country, though the sad thing is the best bacon is exported out of the country, United Kingdom is one of the big takers of our great bacon, and we are stuck with the not so good bacon, can you believe it?

I thought the "Bacon & Cheese muffins" sounded crazy, but good. To me a muffin has always been some sort of cake, but if you think about as a bread, well I must admit, they are crazy good:)

Here you got the simple recipe, yeah isn't it just great that the recipe is really easy as well?
150 g chopped bacon
250 g flour
2½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon paprika
100 g grated cheddar cheese
a small hand full chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon thyme
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 eggs
2½ dl milk

Fry the bacon, and save the bacon fat. Save 1/3 if the bacon to use as topping.
Mix flour, fried bacon, baking powder, paprika, grated cheese, thyme and walnuts in a bowl. In another bowl whisk together the bacon fat, olive oil, eggs and milk.
Mix the 2 bowls together and pour the batter into a muffin tray, sprinkle with bacon and, bake for 25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Let them cool before serving. The only problem I had was that they stuck a bit to the paper muffin forms, but  that didn't stop them from being delicious.

Yet another vacation:)

Yet another week of vacation has just started:) It seems like everyone else was off work between Christmas and New Year, but now it's my time to have a week off:) Actually I also had Friday of, so I have started my vacation all ready. On Friday Frank was off as well, so we took Jonas to the mini zoo. Though it was raining and there wasn't as many animals as during the summer.
Jonas always loves goat number 22, and it was nowhere to be found, I'm a little afraid that it has been turned into a meal for the lions... though we had a pretty good laugh when we passed by the lynx and Jonas called "Gustav", which is our cat... Gustav might be big, but not that big:)

Otherwise Jonas is into a train fase at the moment, I can't count how many times we have watched this video:)

I might have to warned you not to watch it too much it will get stuck in your head! Though the last couple of days we have been able to talk him into to watching episodes of Tractor Tom, which is not nearly as annoying as listening to Thomas the Tank Engine song all the time.

This coming week I have a few plans, I have some painting I need to get done, so Jonas is going into daycare a couple of days, and I going out for brunch with a colleague as well. Otherwise I will be relaxing, reading and maybe a few DIY projects.
