Happy Belated Easter

Once again more than a week passed without me blogging, but being off work for 5 whole days was so nice and so busy. But busy in a good way.

Thursday before Easter there is an annual Motorcycle gathering in our city. We usually go there and look at the motorcycles, and this year was no exception. We started out having breakfast at some friends house and then went into town. When we first arrived there wasn't too many motorcycles, so we went to the playground for a while. When we got back from the playground there was a lot more motorcycles, though it looks really empty on the one picture I got. Jonas ended up falling asleep in the stroller, so we sat outside at a cafe and had a beer before going home.

On Friday we went to visit my parents, my brother was all ready there from the day before. They had arranged an Easter Egg hunt for Jonas, and he loved it.

He was spoiled rotten and had to get Uncle T. to help carry some of the Easter Eggs. My aunt also came, and we had a nice Easter lunch. We spent the night at my parents, and drove back on Saturday.

We spent Saturday relaxing, doing a bit of yard work, and playing outside, the weather was fantastic. On Sunday Jonas and I went to Legoland again so Frank could get some work done. Again the weather was fantastic, so we were not the only one visiting, so there was a bit of a longer line than last time. But it didn't matter because if I would have let Jonas he would have spent the day looking at trains, boats and cars in miniland.

On Monday we went to Fanoe (a small Island just off the coast of Esbjerg). We went to have lunch with Franks parent in their summerhouse.

So all in all we had a great Easter, but we could have used a few more days to relax, so the upcoming weekend is very much needed.

Easter Eggs....

Sometimes it's dangerous to surf the Internet... you would think surfing the Internet on crochet site would be pretty harmless... though I usually to so many ideas to what I want to make next.

That was what happened this time too, though these were quite fast... well at least not a project that demand months of time, and I could use yarn from my stash, so I had to make a few Easter eggs. Though after making them I would like to make some in some finer/thinner yarn, because I think the details will be prettier, but I like the ones I made in cotton yarn as well.

I found the recipe here, it's in Danish so some of you might not have much use of it, sorry.

The finished crocheted eggs, but not much egg shape to them...

I boiled some water, added sugar, after it had dissolved I soaked the eggs for a bit.
Then I pumped a water balloon up inside the egg.

And left them to dry. The recipe said at least 24 hours, but since I was working last night, which was 24 hours after I soaked them, I left them until this morning, so about 36 hours.
Blew up the balloons, and there you have the finished eggs, but I could hold my hands still while taking the photo, so therefore you get a bit blurry picture of the finished project.

Hope you have enjoyed your weekend. Here the weather has been amazing, and we have spent all day today outside, getting the garden ready for spring, and putting up Jonas' trampoline.

An Easter Elephant...

Well is there something called an Easter Elephant? Maybe not, but I finished a crocheted Elephant this Easter so I guess I can call it an Easter Elephant.

Just wanted to post a picture of it, but since it's getting a bit late, the picture is a bit dark, but it will have to do, since I probably should be heading to bed since I'm working tomorrow morning, and with daylight saving time this night I get one hour less sleep. The good thing is that I'm only working for a few hours, so it won't be too bad. I guess I can take a nap while Jonas is napping tomorrow.

There you have my Elephant, I stuffed it a bit too much so it can't sit by itself, so it's leaning of the yarn for another project I'm working on.

Hope you all will have a Happy Easter.

Getting ready for Easter...

Well, I usually don't have a lot of decorations up for Easter, but I found a really easy recipe for crocheted Easter Eggs....

So I made a basket of Easter Eggs, the best thing is probably that Jonas are able to play with them without breaking anything... on the downside there are missing a few, because he has been throwing them around, and I can't find the last couple of eggs.

I like the colours, and you are able to use all your leftover yarn that isn't really enough for anything. I know this is a little early, but I will wish you a Happy Easter anyway.

Where did the Easter break go?

Honestly 2 days off during Easter doesn't feel like a break, more like a weekend... Though I shouldn't complain since I only worked 4 hours both Thursday and Friday, and then 14 hours on Saturday. When I got to work at 6.00 am on Saturday morning I was thinking, "only 14 hours till closing..." at 7.00 I looked at the watched thinking "only 13 hours till closing", and then suddenly we got busy and the next time I look at the watch counting the hours it was 3.00 pm and I was finally getting lunch and thinking "only 5 hours till closing".

The day suddenly went fast, and by the end of the day my hands were dry and cracked from the water, cold weather etc. I knew my hand lotion at home was running low, so I went over to the perfume department to pick up a new one... I decided to try a different one, well kind of had to, because they don't carry the one I usually get. So I tried one from Nivea, The SOS hand balm, repair and care... I must say I am impressed...
My hands are really getting a lot softer now, and best of all it's so much cheaper than the one I usually use, so that's win. I can definitetly recommend it, I was very impressed:)

Hope your Easter break has been amazing!

A busy Easter

We had a busy Easter, but fun at the same time. On Thursday my parents came, and we went into town where there was motorcycle rally. There didn't seem to be as many motorcycles there as there was when we went 2 years ago, but there were a whole lot of people... way too many so we didn't stay long.

On Friday my brother and my aunt came by for lunch, and we had a fairly relaxing day. The weather during Easter has been amazing, but on Friday it seemed to be so hot that Jonas couldn't fall asleep, so he hardly slept all day... but he didn't get upset until evening, so it didn't seem so bad.

On Saturday we visited some friends and went out for lunch. Yesterday we went to visit my parents in law at their summerhouse on this little island outside Esbjerg. So Jonas got to go on the ferry for the first time. We went for a walk when we got of the ferry before calling Franks parents so they could pick us up, so I was able to snap a few pictures from the island. It's really beautiful, especially when the weather is great.

In between everything we have done my husband has managed to finish his photo studio in the garage... well after snapping a few pictures out there he realised he needed another lamp, which is now on the way, and soon he will be up and running... though he is just going to use it as a hobby, I doubt you can charge people when you have no practice, but he is looking forward to practiscing with all the light settings and editing the pictures afterwards. Me... well I'm looking forward to getting some great pictures of Jonas:)

Happy Easter everyone, hope you have enjoyed it:)
