A little bit of this and that...

Yeah I'm still here, but the last few weeks has been crazy busy at work, and when I pick Jonas up at the school he is so tired, because he is no longer napping. So I just haven't had time or energy to blog.

So what have we been up to the last couple of weeks? Well not much really.

Last Saturday I was at a party with my co-workers. We had an okay time, at least I had fun with the people from my own department, but things were a bit crazy that evening.

Otherwise we have pretty much all three been sick. Jonas started last Friday with coughing and a fever, but by Monday he was ready to go back to school. Frank has been near death, as men are when they catch the flu. I have had a cold, and still have, but it seems like it has mostly hit my voice, and I can live with that.

This Friday we were at an 80's concert, which was really fun. We went with some of our neighbours and had a great time.

Today I keep checking facebook, because one of my co-workers daughter is in the hospital and was having surgery this afternoon/evening, so I keep checking for an update. On Thursday they discover and lump or something on her one ovary (she is only 7) and during the night between Thursday and Friday she was transferred to another hospital, where they Friday morning operated her, and found a cyst on 5x6 cm on her one ovary. They had closed her again, and had to wait to see if the ovary was still alive. Due to her pain today they had decided to operated this afternoon instead of waiting. So now I keep checking facebook for hopefully a positive update....

Last night I started a crocheted "My Little Pony" for her, and I still need the last details. Please send good vibes their way, they for sure need it:)

Well I'm off to check facebook again!

Back to normal

Well we seem to be getting back to our normal routine now. Jonas is over the chicken pox, and will be back in daycare tomorrow.

My mum came here on Monday afternoon and stayed till Friday, so we could still go to work and she would watch Jonas. The thing is when my mum is here she doesn't only take care of Jonas... she cleans, she cooks and she does the laundry... it's like having an Au pair.

On Thursday I think Jonas would have been ready for daycare, but since my mum was here he stayed home. On Friday my dad came as well, because they were attending grandparents day in the daycare. They had a really nice time, and Jonas had been really excited to see all his friends again.

While my mum was here it was snowing, and when I arrived home late on Tuesday night after working till 10.00 pm this was the sight I saw.
They had been building snowmen, all of five snowmen. Jonas really had enjoyed himself, and didn't want to go inside. On Wednesday the had gone out to decorate them with carrot noses and pebble buttons and eyes.

My mum tried to get a picture of him and all 5 snowmen, but he kept moving around, so she got one without telling him she was photographing him.

Now there isn't much left of the snowmen, hopefully that means that spring is here, or is here very soon anyways. Though Jonas is a bit upset that his snowmen is gone.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

A few finished projects

So last week during my vacation I had a few projects. I have now finished some of them, and here are some pictures to show for it.

I used my new sewing machine and made a pair of pants for Jonas. I didn't get a picture of him in them, but I'm quite satisfied with the result. They are a bit long, but since there is elastic in the legs it doesn't really matter. It got me hooked, and I ordered more fabric, for another pair of pants for Jonas, which will be with pockets, he was missing his pockets. And I also got some fabric for a dress/tunic for myself. Though at the moment there isn't enough hours in the day to get the sewing machine out due to other projects.

I also finished my scarf, it was really easy to make, and I am now working on one for my mum as well. I guess she need something for babysitting Jonas this next week. On Thursday he got sick with chickenpox, on Friday I was working late, which also meant I didn't have to go into work as early as usual, and Frank is usually off early on Fridays, so he went home a bit earlier than usual, and the few hours from me leaving to him getting home our sweet neighbour babysat for us. She was also hoping that her daughter would catch the chickenpox. In Denmark you don't get a vaccination for the chickenpox, but once you had it you are immune, and the earlier you get it the easier it will be getting over it.

I need to get back to the other scarf. My mum will come here on Monday afternoon and stay till Friday, and then hopefully he will be better and be ready to go to daycare next week.
Have a wonderful weekend.

A new job = fewer hours = a very busy me...

I don't get it. I thought that my new job with fewer hours would leave me more time to blogging etc. So far that hasn't happened.

Last Monday I had the day off, because I had been working during the weekend. Jonas and I enjoyed ourselves, carving a pumpkin, visiting the playground etc. Well Jonas didn't do the carving, it is probably best not leaving him with a knife, but he coloured some small pumpkins while I carved the big one.

Last Tuesday I started the new job, but so far I haven't really started my new position, it's been a little crazy there the last 2 weeks... but hopefully soon I will start my new assignments. But I love have a schedule to follow, so when my plan says I'm off a 3.00 pm I can leave at 3.00 pm and not feel guilty about leaving it to someone else.

On Saturday Jonas and I had invited my parents and my brother to Legoland. None of them had been there since we were kids, I think they said the last time they were there was in 1988... so a lot had changed, to say the least. Jonas loved showing them around, as soon as he saw the train he told my mum that they had to go on it, my brother laughed, but a little to early, because he wanted him and my dad to come along as well. I actually think my brother secretly liked it.

The best thing about going with my parents and brother was that my brother and I got to try some of the wilder rides, and my parents would watch Jonas. I had also told Jonas that his uncle would take him on his "wild" rides, so my brother had to get into "the worm" which didn't leave much space for his legs.

We had a really fun day, and returned with a very tired boy.

On Sunday night Jonas started running a fever, and has been home sick Monday - Wednesday. Luckily enough Frank was also sick Monday and Tuesday, and my parents in law had him on Wednesday. Today he was back in daycare, which meant a very tired boy again today.

Hopefully I will get to update the blog a little more frequently now, but who knows, it seems like I said that a hundred times. Have a great weekend.

Looking on the bright side...

On Tuesday evening I met up with the girls from my knitting group. Sometime during the evening I said I was really looking forward to the weekend, we finally will have a weekend without any plans. I had been working on Monday night and I'm working late again tonight. On top of that Jonas had started a fever on Tuesday afternoon. So a weekend without plans would really come in handy, to catch up around the house, which looked like a mess.

Yesterday morning Jonas still had a fever, so my husband stayed home with him. And what can I say, nothing is so bad that it isn't good for something. When I got home he had done almost all the laundry, tidied up, done a little cleaning and mowed the lawn. Now I'm really looking forward to the weekend, it will be a little more relaxing than expected.

Jonas still has a fever today, so I'm taking him to the doctor and my parents in law will babysit him afterwards.

The phrase "nothing is so bad that it isn't good for something" really made sense to me yesterday. Don't I just have the best husband?

Happy Birthday Jonas

On Sunday it was Jonas's second birthday, and we had been looking forward to it, since last year he was sick on his birthday... well why should that change? Thursday night he ran a fever and started vomiting. I thought Jonas and I had made a deal for him not to get sick the 2 weeks my parents in law was in Mexico, but as with lots of other things, he didn't listen to me.

A friend of ours are not working at the moment due to back problems, so he was babysitting Jonas on Friday, Frank went to work earlier than usual so that he could leave earlier and get home before Jonas' nap time. Saturday he seemed a bit better, though he didn't eat much, but we figured that this year he would be healthy on his birthday.

Well Sunday came and he was coughing a bit more, and a little after noon he was running a fever again, and he started crying when coughing, so we went to the doctor, and my parents would greet our guests. Well it turned out he had otitis and a sore throat so the doctor prescribed him some penicillin.

My parents stayed till Monday so they could babysit while we were at work, but Jonas was suppose to celebrate his birthday at daycare, and since the fever was gone, but he was lacking a lot of sleep, we had decided for him to stay at home. I dropped the cake of at the daycare and my mum took Jonas there for an hour or so when the guests were there so he could be celebrated with gifts and cake. Afterwards he was so tired, and fell asleep after a few minutes in the stroller on the way home.

a picture of him unwrapping his present at daycare, I bet everyone was following intensely. I haven't got around to moving the pictures from his birthday from our camera to the computer, so you will have to wait for those.

My mum left last night, since she had volunteer work today, but my dad stayed to babysit Jonas, though I doubt it was necessary, he seemed perfectly fine when I left for work, and he had been fine all day, but it was nice to have him home an extra day so he can be sure he isn't sick anymore. So after dinner we dropped my dad off at the bus station, while keeping our fingers crossed that this will be all the sickness we will have in a long time... though Frank seems to be coming down with something, but that at least doesn't interfere with my work schedule.

A homemade tractor

With an almost 2-year old little boy who is all about Tractors I of course had to crochet a tractor when I got this book and saw the recipe for a tractor.

It didn't turn out exactly like the recipe, but it will do. At first Jonas didn't want to play with it, he put it on the table as decoration, and if I took to show him how to drive it, well he grabbed it and put it back into the same spot again.

Though now it's okay to play with, so much that it might need to go to the mechanics soon, I don't think I got the wheels sown on properly, so they might need a few extra stitches.

Hope you all will have a wonderful week, I'm all better again, it just sucks that I had to spent my day off being sick, but the again I won't feel bad for missing a day at work.

Sickness.... go away!

I will spare you the details, but lets just say I'm not feeling too well. I was working all weekend, and I felt fine, until I was in my car on the way home yesterday... my stomach started hurting a bit, I figured I was just hungry, since I only had little to eat all day, and at first dinner seemed to help.

After Jonas was tugged in I pretty much also went to bed, though I wasn't feeling really sick, mainly just tired, and figured going to bed early would make it feel like I slept in today. A few hours later I woke up and for a couple of hours I was running back and forth to the bathroom.

Today I have the day of since I was working all weekend. I told the daycare that Jonas was staying home today as well, I have never regretted anything this much... I feel best laying in bed or on the couch (I'm actually laying on the couch while typing this). Jonas has been really good at entertaining himself with his trains and tractors and watching a bit of Tractor Tom.

I should go make him lunch before it's time for his nap, I will tell preparing food is not on the top of the list of things I want to do today, so I'm counting on Frank making dinner tonight:)

What a week...

Well the last week has been everything but quiet! Thursday I had the team building course which turned out to be a smooth path course, so not so much team building, but with the weather right now it was fun and useful. Since I wasn't leaving until the afternoon Jonas was didn't go to daycare as early as usually. I was in the living room watching TV, he was playing with his cars, suddenly he ran out of the living room, I figured he was going to find some more toys in his room... well after a while it was awful quiet, and then you know it means trouble...
He had gone into our guest room, which is also used for storage, so please don't look at the mess in there. On the dresser there was a box of chocolate, so he had pushed a box of cat litter in front of the dresser and stepped up on it so he could reach the chocolate... well you can't say he is dumb... I thought it was so hilarious, so instead of telling him I had caught him red handed I snapped a photo of him first. Afterwards I traded him some grapes for the chocolate, which he was equally as happy getting:)

On Friday he went to daycare again, and around 10.30 she called that he had a fever. Luckily Frank was working from home, so he could go get him. I was working all weekend, and by Monday he didn't have a fever any longer, so I send him to daycare since I had a meeting a 11.30 otherwise I had the day of. At 10.30 she called that he had a fever again... I picked him up, and then dropped him of at my parents in law. Tuesday he went to my parents in law again, but he wasn't really sick, but we figured we would play it safe. Then today he went back to daycare, and at 10 she called again he was sick... Frank picked him up, though this time he also behaved sick, not only the fever.
So sitting in the couch watching Tractor Tom on the tablet is a great way to spent time when you are sick. Now we have arranged for him to go to my parents in law again Thursday and Friday, and hopefully he will be completely over his sickness by Monday!

Hope your week has been a little bit better than mine:)

Bad timing...

I can't believe it has been over a week since I blogged... life just went busy, and I'm not going to bore you with the details.

On Monday Jonas woke up with a fever, so he couldn't go to daycare. Frank stayed home with him, and Yesterday I had taken the day off to go to his Christmas party with the daycare. He didn't have a fever in the   morning, so we went. He met Santa, got a gift and danced around the Christmas tree, all in all we had a fab time. We went home, got lunch and I put him down for his nap... 1 hour and 45 minutes later we woke up and was warmer than the sun. So the fever was back.... I went to the doctor with him in the afternoon, luckily there was nothing wrong, we just had to wait it out. Normally we would get Franks parents to babysit him so we could go to work, but they are on vacation, right now they are on the beach in Bali, enjoying the sun instead of the snow we got over the weekend. So Jonas getting sick now really sucks, if only he could have waited a week, they are back home this Saturday.

So today I rearranged my work schedule, so I can go to work when Frank gets home, and the guy who was working tonight took my shift this morning, lucky me to have such great co workers.

When I put Jonas down for his nap a little while ago he didn't have a fever, and I hope it's over, but if it isn't my dad will be able to be here tomorrow. Though my parents lived almost 2 hours away, and I don't want them to drive here if it isn't necessary.

Though Jonas doesn't act like a sick kid, except for having a fever he is doing everything he usually does. Though he has just recently discover the photos on my phone, and now also the camera:)

Have a great week everyone:)

A little update...

Seems like life been way too busy lately. Or well we haven't done much, but with Jonas' broken collarbone it just seems like we have been even more busy.

We have been to the hospital today for a check up, and it was healing very well. So the doctor recommended him to keep the wrap on for another week, though we could take it of for him to get a bath and when he was sleeping. And even better... we don't have to go back for another check.

Frank has the rest of the week off, so Jonas isn't going back to daycare until Monday, and by then it should have healed a lot more. Though we are really lucky to have grandparents that are able and willing to babysit Jonas while we are at work. Last week my mother in law watched him for 2 days, and Friday I was off work. Sunday afternoon my mum arrived with bus, and my dad picked her up today. I could get used to having her live here... getting home to a clean house, no laundry, and a nice home cooked meal... all that she has done while entertaining Jonas for a whole day.

Well that will be the little update for now. Don't know when I will be back since I will be working all day both Friday and Saturday. So until then have a great weekend!

Favourite things swap:)

You might remember I joined Lin's favourite things swap. I was paired with Luckie, and last Thursday I finally got around to go to the post office to send her package. This Thursday I received a package from her, and it couldn't have come at a better time:)

The night between Wednesday and Thursday Jonas wasn't sleeping much, he had a fever, he was coughing and just really fuzzy. On Thursday my husband took him to the doctor and it turned out it was the beginning of pneumonia, and he is now on medicine. So the last couple of days have been tiring to say the least.

So getting home from work on Thursday, after not having slept much during the night, then having a really busy day at work, well receiving a package in the mail just made my day:)

On the picture you can see the sweet things Luckie sent me. She sent me a really sweet apron and a bib for Jonas, both some she had made herself... how I wish my sewing skills were better:) Some really cute note cards, a trio of nail polish (how did she know that my favourite colour is green?), a little book, a scented candle (roasted marshmellows, which I forgot to get in the picture) some chocolate and some candy... suddenly my long day and night with very little sleep didn't seem all that bad... thank you Luckie:)

Jonas is doing a little better, the fever is gone (luckily, because then he can go to daycare tomorrow, because we don't have anyone that is able to help us out tomorrow), though he is still coughing, but he is also eating more than he has been the last few days. So hopefully he will soon be healthy and happy again:)

So much for setting goals...

A week ago I made it a goal to blog at least twice a week, and it's now Thursday and the first time I'm blogging this week... and I don't have much to blog about.

My back is back to normal, I ate pills all weekend and Monday too, but since Monday I haven't had any pain. On Monday I found out that I was actually included in our company's health insurance, and if I ever get the same problem again I can go to a chiropractor, and it will be free! If only I had known on Saturday! I always thought it was only the bosses, that were covered, but it turns out sales leaders are as well. That's really a winner:)

Well as I said I don't have much to blog about, but hopefully I will be back once again this week with something more interesting:) Until then have a great weekend!

New routines....

I have now been back to work for little over a week, and I think it's safe to say that I don't hope this will be our new routine....

I started work last Friday, and I really like being back. When I got home my parents had arrived since we were celebrating Jonas' first birthday on Saturday, but on Friday night Jonas didn't want to sleep because he was coughing. We ended up having him sleep with us, but around 3.00 am we ended up calling the doctor. So we got up and drove to the doctor, and it turned out Jonas had croup, but it wasn't so bad that he would medicate him, he just recommended a lot of fresh air. So on Saturday we were exhausted, Jonas was sick and we were celebrating his first birthday! I'm just so happy my parents were here, otherwise I doubt we would have got any food on the table, because none of us had energy and we weren't thinking clearly! This wasn't exactly how we planned Jonas' first birthday, but hopefully the rest of them will be fantastic:)

On Monday he still wasn't feeling too good, so Frank's mum came and stayed with him, so none of us had to stay home. Tuesday he was back in daycare, and on Wednesday he had to go to another daycare, but since Frank wasn't feeling too well so he picked up Jonas early. When he picked him up he was grabbing his ears all the time, so after I got home we ended up taking him to the doctor again, and it turned out he had otitis. We got some medicine for him, and if he didn't have a fever he would be able to go to daycare the next day. On Thursday morning he didn't have a fever, but he was a bit coddled , so we ended up calling Frank's mum again. Then on Friday my mum were here to babysit, though he was feeling better, but we just wanted to be healthy before going into daycare again.

I was working again yesterday, so when I got home my feet were killing me after working from 7.30 am to 9.00 pm on Friday and 7.30 am to 6.00 pm on Saturday, luckily today I am able to relax, but tomorrow I will be working from 7.30 am to 9.00 pm again, but on Tuesday I will have the day off, and Jonas and I are just going to have a fun and relaxing day together.

I don't hope this will be our new routines, and hopefully Jonas will stay healthy!

A few lazy days...

It started Sunday night... I was getting a headache and coughing a little! I went to work Monday, which was my long day (from 8 am till 9 pm) and I was in charge of our department till closing! I don't usually mind being in charge, hey that's my job if I didn't like it I should probably find something else! But as Monday went on I did mind! Luckily one of the guys called in sick (he is never sick) and he was closing with me (this wasn't the lucky part), the lucky part was one of our employees said she would go home and come in later in the afternoon instead! Well she is able to close the department, but doesn't like to. But when she got back to work to find out I had been running to the bathroom throwing up most of the day she felt sorry for me. She said I should go home, but knowing how she feels about closing the department I said no! Though at 8 pm I was exhausted, and had to go home... but just getting home an hour earlier was really a delight!
After having been to the bathroom a few times I said to my boss (you remember I have the best boss ever!) "I really hope that this throwing up has something to do with my pregnancy" to which he replied "Of course it is". I couldn't get myself to explain to him that I haven't had any morning sickness yet, and I felt a fever coming on, not something that should come with morning sickness. But honestly the last few weeks everyone has just been sick! I guess now it was my turn!
On Tuesday I had to go to work... well had to and had to is maybe too much said. But I had a meeting a 11 am which I really wanted to attend and I had a few other things to do as well. Well after the meeting, which ended at noon, I headed home, and into bed! So I slept all day! I got up when my husband came home, but that was just to move from the bed to the sofa. I didn't move from the sofa except to eat dinner!
Sleeping all day... well that in resulted in a really lousy sleep last night, and now I'm exhausted! I have been to work, and I'm feeling better, except for a sore throat. But I'm tired... and I refuse to take a nap, because I can't bear another sleepless night! So I'm trying to keep awake another few hours, so I can watch Desperate Housewives and then I will go to bed.
Now I will go make another cup of tea... I'm not much of a tea drinker, I'm a coffee girl, but whenever I'm feeling a bit under the weather I drink tea and feel even more sorry for myself:)
Hope you're all doing fine! And sorry about the whining!

I'm counting the hours...

For the weekend that is. All week I have felt a bit under the weather. I believe it was due to our really great party on Saturday, but it was in a big tent and it was really cold. But hey when you are drinking, you don't feel so cold... so now I got a cold! Last night I hardly got any sleep due to my coughing...
But the weekend isn't all I have a countdown for, in just 39 short days we are off to Singapore... I can't wait! So I think I will daydream my cold away, and look at some pictures from last years vacation...

Me and my husband having a "Singapore Sling" at Raffles Hotel, a must in Singapore.

My trying to make rice pancakes, with a little, okay a lot of help from the nice old lady! It's in South Vietnam.

One of our 500 pictures of Angkor Wat in Cambodia!

And last a few monkeys in the park in Singapore.

Enjoy your weekend!
