My bags are packed...

I'm ready to go!

I'm leaving on a jet plane... okay I'll spare you from more of John Denver. But my bags are packed and we are leaving in about half an hour...

So I hope I have everything, at least I have the most important things like tickets, passport and money, so I will manage!

See you all in a few weeks!

I'm still here, but only till Monday!

I'm still here, but I just been pretty busy with work this week. It just seems like every time you go on vacation you have a lot of loose ends to take care off first.
I'm exhausted and in need of a vacation! Mentally I've all ready been on vacation for the last few days, but I still a tomorrow left. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow will be just as slow of a day as today, because then I can leave early, since I have someone who can cover for me! So keep your fingers crossed will you:)
We are leaving on Monday, and I can't wait to check into our hotel in Little India in Singapore, where we will be staying the first few days before heading on to Borneo and Kuala Lumpur! Just one little thing I need to do before leaving... packing! I hate to pack, but I love to travel. I have kept putting it off, and now I'm doing it again. I will be packing tomorrow after work, because tonight I'm home alone, so I have bought snacks and pizza to keep me company!
Well I have started a little of packing, like printing all the tickets, finding the books that will keep me company etc. I pretty much just need my clothes, which my lovely husband have been washing for the past couple of days, so no more laundry to do, I just have to throw it into a suitcase!
I don't know if I'll be back to the blog world before leaving, and I don't know if I will be able to blog while I'm away. So if I don't see you sooner I'll be back in a couple of weeks! Have fun, I know I'll be enjoying myself to the max!

What a party!

Yesterday was a really great day. First I got to work at 7.00, and we had absolutely nothing to do... but the bad thing about being the sales leader in the department is I have to be there... or not if I have someone to cover for me:) Usually I just send someone home and saves the money, but on Saturdays we always have a lot to do around 3.00 pm because we need the change prices etc. So I called our store manager and asked what he would say if I went home and got back at 3.00. He asked who I had a work, told him who was there, what there was to do, and added I could be there in 10 minutes I something went wrong... and he said okay. So I had a siesta from 11.00 am till 3.00 pm:)
When I got back to work they were almost finished with everything except changing prices and sweeping the floor! So we started changing prices, which we were finished at 5.00 pm but weren't closing till 6.00 pm. But my really nice employee told me to go home, he would cover for me, and I could go get ready for the party. That extra hours just means a great deal....
So I actually got to the party 10 minutes early! And we had a blast, but how can't you when 8 girls get together in stilettos and drink strawberry daiquiris:)
Unfortunately I'm not able to find the thing that I need for getting pictures from my camera to the computer so you just need to use your imagination:)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Work and Sex and the city!

This weekend will be spent working, well I'm working from 8-21 tomorrow and 7-18 on Saturday, that is the boring part of the weekend. But the on Saturday evening I have been invited to a "Sex and The City" party at my sister in law!

via

So I got my dress all ready, the make up and hair drier is laid out, so I can just jump in the shower after work, and get ready. Well I have to get ready fast, because everyone is invited at 19. Which gives me an hour from the store closing, which mean I won't be able to leave before 15 minutes after at the best. So that will give me 20 minutes/half an hour to get ready before having to leave again... I guess I can be fashionably late, which will give 10-15 minutes extra. I don't want to be too late, because I don't want to eat my dinner cold:)

via

But I'm sure it will be a wonderful evening with dinner, drinks, dresses and stiletto heals:) The only sad thing about this party... I think I'm the only one who haven't got around to watching the newest movie!

via

On Sunday I will be sleeping in late, and I think I will do some shopping so we can have a great breakfast, with eggs, bacon and who knows maybe pancakes:) The rest of the day will be spent doing laundry and starting to pack for our vacation, because the will be my last day off before leaving next Monday:) Can you believe that I actually have to work 7 days in a row? Why did I agree to this, you might ask? Well this way I get to have 3 whole weeks off in a row, and the worst time possible at work. So I guess you give some and you get some:)

What a wonderful weekend!

I had the best weekend. We went to my parents on Saturday morning, and just hang around the garden. Had lunch, cake and ice cream... what better way to spent a hot summer weekend.

I just loved spending time with my parents, my brother and my soon to be sister in law. We had the most amazing day, though we didn't do much.

On Saturday evening we went to my cousins birthday party, which was really fun. I had expected it to be a bit not boring, but yeah boring. But we had a great time.

Then my husband and I spent the night at my parents and when we got up breakfast was served, and we sat around the breakfast table for a couple of hours.

Well hope you all had a great weekend! I just have a bit more energy for the long week ahead!

Weekend... yeah!

My weekend started early, at 12.30 pm to be exact! And I haven't done much since, besides relaxing and taking a nap!

Tomorrow morning we will be heading to my parents house and will be staying till Sunday. We are going to celebrate my dads birthday, which isn't until Monday, but this way we can get together with my brother and fiance too.

my dad and I before going to the church on my wedding day

I'm so looking forward to going down there, I'm so exhausted and just needs to do nothing, and what a better way than being at mum and dads and getting everything served for you? No laundry to do (well there probably is, but I'm not going to do it), no cleaning to do (I'm sure there is nothing of that to do, my mum have always kept the home clean), just being able to lean back and enjoy a great meal:)

Well I should go and wrap my daddy's presents. Happy birthday dad!

Enjoy your weekend everybody!

How to get out of bed REALLY fast!

Yesterday I had a workday, and on Sundays I usually go in around 7.00 am and we open at 9.00 am. I just kind of nice to get the last details ready for opening in a nice a slow pace with a cup of coffee. The day usually ends up better when the day starts out good.

So yesterday morning I woke up before the alarm... or so I thought! I turned around to look at the watch to see how long I could sleep before I had to get up. SURPRISE.... it was 8.53 am, yep the store was opening 7 minutes later! I started swearing why the f*** the alarm hadn't went of, and ran to find a phone to call in that I was late.

via

I found the phone which felt like minutes later, looked at it and it said the time was only 4.52 am... confused? I for sure was, and started swearing even more... ran to the kitchen to look at the watch on the oven, which also said 4.52... still not sure which clock was right, I ran to find my cell phone, which also said 4.52.

So by then I was sure it was only 4.52, and could go back to bed. But now I was wondering why the alarm clock would show 8.53 am, it runs on batteries (so I can be a falling out of power), it's radio controlled via Frankfurt.... so instead of getting a few ours more sleep I was wondering what happened. I might have come to a conclusion that it must have been all the thunder and lighting going on through the night.

I tell you that sleeping in late is something that can get me out of bed REALLY fast. I only slept in late once before, and from the time I got up till the time I got to work took 12 minutes, I got to shower before leaving. 12 MINUTES, beat that! I have to say it usually takes 7 minutes to drive to work, that day I probably did it 4 or 5 minutes. Yeah I didn't dry my hair and was only wearing mascara.

Hope your Sunday started out a bit better than mine!

Happy 4th of July weekend USA!

Those Americans for sure knows how to celebrate! I've been lucky enough to celebrate the 4th July twice in the USA.

The first time was while I was an Au Pair, and I celebrated the weekend at the beach, in Ocean City Maryland. I spent the weekend with the family at the beach, I went para sailing, we went to a really great fish restaurant for dinner, and met up with the rest of the family for the fireworks. It's really an amazing holiday.

The second time I had the luck to celebrate was 3 years ago while on vacation, and we just happened to be in New York City. As the naive tourist we were, we figured the top of the Empire State Building would be a great place to watch the fireworks. But we went for dinner first, and then we was standing in line outside the building at the time the fireworks started. As first we thought it was thunder (I refer to the stupidity of tourists again), because it had be really hot and humid all day. Then it dawned on us... its the fireworks, so instead on waiting in line, we started walking towards the river.

We got some really great pictures, and had fun. And we got to go to the Empire State Building on July 5th. But if you ever go to New York on the 4th of July and you plan to go to the Empire State Building to see the fireworks, you should probably go there in the afternoon and stay till the evening:)

One of the reasons I love the 4th of July is just the celebrating of your independence. We don't really have an independence day in Denmark, on June 5th we have a holiday because the oldest law in Denmark was written. On May 4th 1945 we were freed from Germany (parts of Denmark), and the only way you really celebrate that is by lighting a candle in you windows... as I said those Americans for sure knows how to celebrate!

Happy 4th of July USA!
