Is it spring yet?

This winter has to end soon, I swear it has just been snowing... it's the beginning of April, what is happening?  Global warming? I thought that would give warmer weather!
Doing a self portrait isn't easy but I hope you get the picture:)

Last week it seemed like spring was about to come, but right now it seems that winter has won again. On the positive side though is that my current DIY project is useful now. I got a recipe from a colleague, who asked if I could knit a hat for her 3 girls and for her. At first I thought the recipe looked a bit hard, but I decided to give it a try.
Jonas tried it on as well, he thought he was really funny, unfortunately I only managed to get a picture of him with the hat half off and his eyes half closed.

It turned out when I had it in my hands, well it wasn't that hard at all. I started knitting one for myself from some yarn I had in stock:) It turned out better than expected, and I currently have 4 more to make. She gave me the yarn yesterday, so I have something to do for the next couple of weeks... or months maybe. When I started knitting last week the weather seemed to be getting better, so maybe I should just keep knitting and the sun will come out...

A wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend at my parents house. We drove down there on Saturday, and Jonas was sleeping as soon as he got in the car, but he usually sleeps around the time the we drove, but he only slept for the drive, usually he sleeps an hour or two longer, so the weekend has kind of mess up his routines... at least it seemed like it after we got home yesterday, but now it seems like it's not so bad after all, he only woke up once during the night (which he usually does), but he woke up a bit early this morning, but is now sleeping like he usually does at this time, so I don't think it's all bad.

Jonas showing off his muscles... he is getting really strong:)

We had a great time at my parents, on Saturday the weather was wonderful, so my mum, Jonas and I went for a walk while my dad and Frank watched a soccer game. Otherwise it was a fairly relaxing day.

Me and Jonas in my parents garden, the first time Jonas went outside without his hat, but only for a short time, I don't wont my baby to get sick!

On Sunday my aunt and my brother came to my parents house for lunch, and several of my parents friends came by to see Jonas. My parents are eager to show him off, but I guess that is how it is with their first grandchild:) Though I think all the people coming over was a bit much for Jonas, so he was happy to get in the car and drive back home so he could get some sleep!

Jonas stole Grandma's chair!

Today the weather seems really nice, so Jonas and I might go for a short work later on, but not too long, I'm still a bit tired from the weekend, but I do believe the fresh air will do me some good. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Spring, friends and invitations

It's been a great week so far... the spring has come to Denmark, and I'm hoping it's staying. Though they have talked about snow tomorrow, I find it hard to believe with the great weather we have right now, it's not super warm, but the sun is shining, and Jonas are sleeping outside in his pram. The great weather also gives us the opportunity to go for long walks, which hopefully will lead to me loosing a few more pounds:)

Yesterday a friend of mine came for a visit with her baby, whom suddenly seemed amazingly big... I guess with Jonas only being 3 weeks, Ella just seems huge being 8 months:) It was really nice seeing her again, we used to work in the same department, but after she went on maternity leave we haven't been the best at keeping in touch. Unfortunately she is going back to work soon, so instead of taking her full maternity leave she is saving some, and are therefore able to only work 30 hours a week the next year and a half. Wouldn't that be cool? I won't be able to do that though, since I'm employed as a leader, and therefore don't have a fixed schedule.

Today I have done a little light cleaning while Jonas is sleeping, and I have made the invitations for his baptism, and if I have to say it myself they turned out pretty great:)

We are having the baptism on my birthday. We were planning on having it the day after, since my birthday is on Saturday, but our church apparently have special baptism services the first Saturday in the month, so come June 4th Jonas is getting baptised.

Now I'm looking forward to the weekend, where we will have some friends over for dinner. So depending on Jonas' mood we will see who is cooking the dinner, me of the husband:) Have a great weekend everyone when you get there!

Spring seems to have arrived

The spring is here to stay, the sun has been shining, the flowers starts to bloom and we have been riding the motorcycle. All things are true signs that spring is here.

On Thursday the sun was shining and it was 17 degrees Celsius, though the high degrees didn't stay, the spring is still here. On Thursday night I has my first ride this year on our motorcycle... well on my husbands motorcycle to be correct. We went for a drive and that is for sure a sign that the spring is here, and summer is only a few months away:)

I love sitting on the back of the motorcycle, feeling the wind and the fresh air, but I will never get a drivers licence for it myself. I'm perfectly fine sitting in the back, I'm hate to admit it, but I don't dare to drive it myself... I don't trust myself enough to have control over the bike, so I leave my life in the hands of my husband, which I have no problem with. Reading this, I realise that it sounds a bit weird... I trust my husband more than myself, how can that be?

My husbands bike

This weekend have been a bit busy, we went to visit my parents and stayed there from Friday to Saturday. Its just really nice being a "home", mum cooks all the meals, dad is reading the paper and makes sure we have enough coffee etc. My husband and my dad went to our mechanic to get our second car fixed... that was partly the reason we went to see my parents. They know this guy who is a mechanic and will fix our car quite cheap (no taxes and no receipt), so why not take advantage of that!

Today we have been doing laundry, there is lots of it! been cleaning a bit and now we are watching our local soccer team play on TV.

Hope you all had a great weekend, and are enjoying spring.

What a day...

I have had the day off, and I'm almost blown away by how much I have gotten done... well no wonder since I was up a lot earlier than I usually is of my day off. I had an appointment at the hairdresser at 8.00 this morning, I saw they had a 10% discount if you were there between 8-10 am, so why not plan around that. So even with spending a couple of hours at the hairdressers I still had plenty of time to do other things. I went grocery shopping, went to get an environmental stamp for the car, which we need when going to Berlin, went to the mechanics for a check of the car, relaxed, cleaned, started tonight's dinner and I still have half a day left...
Though right now I'm debating wheter or not to go to my badminton class tonight, I'm sore all over my body from moving fruit trees around most of the day at work yesterday. I might just stay at home on the couch, but I told my badminton partner if she couldn't find a replacement I would go, but I wouldn't be able to run.
Just to top off the day, the sun is out, and it 7 degrees Celsius.

The snow is back...

Just as I thought spring was on its way it started snowing again. The snow started to melt last weekend and by Tuesday it was all gone, yeah! Spring must be on its way, I guess that just lasted for a short while, because yesterday it started snowing again, and not just a little, we got a lot of snow in a short period of time. But again today the sun is shining again, and I'm right here cheering it on. But I'm a wee bit nervous that the snow will be back again, so keeping my fingers crossed that the sun keeps shining.
