Party animal

Yesterday we went to a party, celebrating our friends son finishing his education as a smith. Since Frank's parents has just gone on another vacation, they couldn't babysit. Instead we figured we would just bring along Jonas.

He had a blast, and so did we. They had brought a box of toys for him to play with, there were play plates, cups etc. so he started serving us coffee, after he had served us, he went over to another table serving them as well, they were all good sports and played along.

Then he discovered a bowl of chocolate, luckily they were wrapped individually, and he started running around giving everyone chocolate.

When he needed a break we had brought the tablet so he could watch Tractor Tom.

At one point he was at the gift table, and he discovered a lot of little flag stickers on a box, which he started to pull of and put on his shirt. I got a picture, not the best quality since I only had my phone.

He was a real party animal, he had lots of fun and so did we. Though we went home quite early to get him into bed, though not as early as we had feared would have been necessary. I had said if he got too tired I would just take him home and Frank could stay, but Jonas did really good, so we all went home together.

A homemade tractor

With an almost 2-year old little boy who is all about Tractors I of course had to crochet a tractor when I got this book and saw the recipe for a tractor.

It didn't turn out exactly like the recipe, but it will do. At first Jonas didn't want to play with it, he put it on the table as decoration, and if I took to show him how to drive it, well he grabbed it and put it back into the same spot again.

Though now it's okay to play with, so much that it might need to go to the mechanics soon, I don't think I got the wheels sown on properly, so they might need a few extra stitches.

Hope you all will have a wonderful week, I'm all better again, it just sucks that I had to spent my day off being sick, but the again I won't feel bad for missing a day at work.

Sickness.... go away!

I will spare you the details, but lets just say I'm not feeling too well. I was working all weekend, and I felt fine, until I was in my car on the way home yesterday... my stomach started hurting a bit, I figured I was just hungry, since I only had little to eat all day, and at first dinner seemed to help.

After Jonas was tugged in I pretty much also went to bed, though I wasn't feeling really sick, mainly just tired, and figured going to bed early would make it feel like I slept in today. A few hours later I woke up and for a couple of hours I was running back and forth to the bathroom.

Today I have the day of since I was working all weekend. I told the daycare that Jonas was staying home today as well, I have never regretted anything this much... I feel best laying in bed or on the couch (I'm actually laying on the couch while typing this). Jonas has been really good at entertaining himself with his trains and tractors and watching a bit of Tractor Tom.

I should go make him lunch before it's time for his nap, I will tell preparing food is not on the top of the list of things I want to do today, so I'm counting on Frank making dinner tonight:)

A weekend of music:)

Yet another week has passed, and I can't believe it. This weekend we went to the Southern part of Denmark and stayed with my parents, during day Saturday and Sunday I was with the orchestra/brass band at a cabin in the woods. Frank and Jonas came to visit a few times. Saturday night we had a small party, my parents usually attend those parties as well, though this year my mum were busy all day Saturday and Sunday, so she offered to stay home and put Jonas to sleep, and we could enjoy the evening without having to run around making sure he wasn't getting into trouble.
Jonas doing a little dance to the music, please don't look at my face, this was at the end of the day Sunday, and I could hardly play any more.

During the weekend I think we played for 8 or 9 hours, it was so much fun, we played some of the old stuff that we have played forever, and we got some new stuff which was really exciting. We were teasing each other, making fun of each other and walked down memory lane. After all the orchestra has existed for 31 years now, so there are quite a few funny stories, like the guy who showed up in the wrong uniform, we still tease him about that 15-20 years later, the Christmas song where I always, and I mean always play during the pause, I can't help it, in my head there is another note, or the girl who said I'll get it right next week, though she didn't and she still uses that excuse:)
Jonas had fun running around and dancing while we played, though every now and then he would get into trouble.

It was a fun weekend, but boy was I tired when we got home on Sunday. Monday was not at all fun, we attended my cousins funeral. He died only 44 years old, though he has not lived an easy life I was still shocked when I heard he had passed away.

Yesterday was Franks birthday, I can't say we celebrated in style... we both had work, and for dinner we had spaghetti bolognese, how is that for a birthday menu? Though I asked Frank what he wanted for dinner and he said something Jonas would like... so that was how we ended up with that menu.

Today I have the day off, since I will be working this weekend. Jonas and I have been sleeping in, well I was lying in bed and Jonas was sitting next to me watching Tractor Tom, we have been shopping, playing with his trains and baking. Now he is sleeping, and afterwards we might go to the playground.

Have a great week everyone.

Shrovetide

Even though Shrovetide isn't really until this Sunday/Monday Jonas celebrated Shrovetide at daycare yesterday. As I wrote he was going to be dressed as a lion, and by Tuesday morning I dressed him in his costume instead of his real clothes and that was okay, but wearing the hat was a no go...

This was how he looked every time we put the hat on him:)

Again trying to get the hat off...

Most of his time he looked like this, but isn't the costume great, a friend of mine made it, and she just post pictures of her kids costume for this year, isn't she creative?

I guess Jonas was just as hard photographing as I can imagine a real lion will be, but bribing him with winegums left his hands of the hat long enough for us to get a picture:)

Does any of you celebrate holidays that isn't global?

Where did January go?

Can you believe it's February all ready? Where did the 31 days of January go?

Well our month of January seemed to be spent with a sick Jonas, thankfully he is now over the whole thing (knock on wood). On Tuesday they had grandparents day at daycare, so both my parents and Frank's parents went with him to daycare. Last year my parents were here to attend the grandparents day, but back then Jonas only had been to daycare for a week, and he hated it. This time around he had a lot of fun, and so did the grandparents:)

This coming Tuesday they are celebrating Shrovetide, which I wrote about here last year. This year he is dressing up as a lion. I borrowed the costume from a friend, and so far we haven't had too much success getting him into it, but I hope that I Tuesday morning can dress him like I do every morning, and maybe he won't realise that it's a costume:) Hey you got to use the little tricks. So hopefully sometime during the next week I will be able to post pictures of my little lion:)

Hope you are all doing well, and have enjoyed your weekend!
