A little bit of this and that...

Yeah I'm still here, but the last few weeks has been crazy busy at work, and when I pick Jonas up at the school he is so tired, because he is no longer napping. So I just haven't had time or energy to blog.

So what have we been up to the last couple of weeks? Well not much really.

Last Saturday I was at a party with my co-workers. We had an okay time, at least I had fun with the people from my own department, but things were a bit crazy that evening.

Otherwise we have pretty much all three been sick. Jonas started last Friday with coughing and a fever, but by Monday he was ready to go back to school. Frank has been near death, as men are when they catch the flu. I have had a cold, and still have, but it seems like it has mostly hit my voice, and I can live with that.

This Friday we were at an 80's concert, which was really fun. We went with some of our neighbours and had a great time.

Today I keep checking facebook, because one of my co-workers daughter is in the hospital and was having surgery this afternoon/evening, so I keep checking for an update. On Thursday they discover and lump or something on her one ovary (she is only 7) and during the night between Thursday and Friday she was transferred to another hospital, where they Friday morning operated her, and found a cyst on 5x6 cm on her one ovary. They had closed her again, and had to wait to see if the ovary was still alive. Due to her pain today they had decided to operated this afternoon instead of waiting. So now I keep checking facebook for hopefully a positive update....

Last night I started a crocheted "My Little Pony" for her, and I still need the last details. Please send good vibes their way, they for sure need it:)

Well I'm off to check facebook again!

A weekend of music:)

Yet another week has passed, and I can't believe it. This weekend we went to the Southern part of Denmark and stayed with my parents, during day Saturday and Sunday I was with the orchestra/brass band at a cabin in the woods. Frank and Jonas came to visit a few times. Saturday night we had a small party, my parents usually attend those parties as well, though this year my mum were busy all day Saturday and Sunday, so she offered to stay home and put Jonas to sleep, and we could enjoy the evening without having to run around making sure he wasn't getting into trouble.
Jonas doing a little dance to the music, please don't look at my face, this was at the end of the day Sunday, and I could hardly play any more.

During the weekend I think we played for 8 or 9 hours, it was so much fun, we played some of the old stuff that we have played forever, and we got some new stuff which was really exciting. We were teasing each other, making fun of each other and walked down memory lane. After all the orchestra has existed for 31 years now, so there are quite a few funny stories, like the guy who showed up in the wrong uniform, we still tease him about that 15-20 years later, the Christmas song where I always, and I mean always play during the pause, I can't help it, in my head there is another note, or the girl who said I'll get it right next week, though she didn't and she still uses that excuse:)
Jonas had fun running around and dancing while we played, though every now and then he would get into trouble.

It was a fun weekend, but boy was I tired when we got home on Sunday. Monday was not at all fun, we attended my cousins funeral. He died only 44 years old, though he has not lived an easy life I was still shocked when I heard he had passed away.

Yesterday was Franks birthday, I can't say we celebrated in style... we both had work, and for dinner we had spaghetti bolognese, how is that for a birthday menu? Though I asked Frank what he wanted for dinner and he said something Jonas would like... so that was how we ended up with that menu.

Today I have the day off, since I will be working this weekend. Jonas and I have been sleeping in, well I was lying in bed and Jonas was sitting next to me watching Tractor Tom, we have been shopping, playing with his trains and baking. Now he is sleeping, and afterwards we might go to the playground.

Have a great week everyone.

Is it really Friday again?

This week has gone so fast, I can't believe it's Friday again. I haven't had time to blog, and hardly had time to read blogs... and honestly I don't feel like I have been all that busy.
It has been a week of a couple of "firsts" for Jonas. Monday he had his first haircut, he could use a little trim, so when Frank had an appointment at the hairdresser Jonas and I tagged along, and luckily she had time to trim Jonas' hair as well. Though it didn't take long, but probably for the best because he had a hard time sitting still.
On Tuesday he had his first dentist appointment... at 8 months, honestly do they really think they will get babies to willingly open their mouth at that age? In Denmark going to the dentist is free until you turn 18, so they call you in about once a year, unless you got braces. I guess the first time is when you are 8 months, but she tried to show us how to brush his teeth etc. And it all went pretty well.
Yesterday I had invited my brother for a concert with an Danish artist. It's not because he is a really good singer, but the lyrics are quite entertaining. This was a solo concert, I have been to concerts with him before, both solo and with a band. He simply is better solo than with band, mostly because of the stories he tells in between songs. Ahead of time we had dinner at the a restaurant, the food was okay the service was just lousy yesterday, it usually isn't. We waited 40 minutes from ordering our food to getting it... good thing Frank and Jonas came along, because then we started a bit earlier than we would have if it was just me and my brother. We came 2 hours before the concert started, and that turned out to be a good thing, because we just made it to the concert 10 minutes before starting, since we also had to wait for ages to pay. Though we did get a free beer due to the wait...
After the concert we went out for a beer before heading home. But I must say that today I am really tired, so I think I will be going to bed early tonight. Right now I am just relaxing on the couch, Jonas is asleep and Frank went to see a soccer game at a friends house... so now it's quiet time.
Have a nice weekend everyone:)

What a great weekend!

This weekend was a great one, but also a long one!

On Friday afternoon we drove down to my parents, and boy is there a lot to pack when you are very much pregnant. What if I was to give birth this weekend? Well the car was packed with our overnight bag, a bag for the hospital, a car seat etc. I guess we just have to get used to it. So we had a great dinner at my parents place, and then watched the semi finals of the mens world cup in handball. Denmark was playing Spain, and we won... YEAH!

On Saturday I was going to meet up with our old Brass Band which I used to play in, we meet up at a cabin in the woods once a year, and play all day Saturday, and to my suprise I could hang on, because when practising last week I was out of breath within minutes! On Saturday night we had a party where spouses, parents, kids etc. are invited. I had decided not to spent the night in the cabin but at my parents place instead, and we were back around midnight.

Sunday I had to be back at the cabin at 9.00 am, and we play for a few hours again. Afterwards they were getting lunch ready, but I was exhausted so I headed back to my parents instead. After lunch with my parents we packed the car again and left for home. I slept in the car, and was still tired when we got home. When I was resting on the couch I realised what I was feeling... I hadn't felt like that in ages, and honestly I don't miss the feeling! I felt like I was hungover from partying all night!
I don't think I'm able to get any bigger by now! The picture is taken last week, so I'm probably all ready bigger:)

After a nap we went to watch the final in the world cup at some friends, they had invited us for dinner and the game. Denmark were playing France, and within ordinary time the game tied, so they prolonged the game and Denmark lost, but they played well, and considering that it is a fairly new team I'm super happy with 2nd place. Besides before the world cup their goal was to be in top 7, so I guess they were happy too. Well probably not right after loosing the game, but after a good nights sleep I'm sure the boys will realise what an amazing job they have done.

When we got home around 9.00 pm last night I headed straight to bed, and slept till 10.00 am this morning... well I didn't sleep all that well, I was awake several times, I can't wait for this pregnancy to be over... or at least just the heart burn, it always comes at bedtime no matter what I do!

And the winner is...

Well the show last night was quite good, but only 4 good songs in my opinion. The final 4 had 2 of my favourites in it, and they ended up in final 2 as well. But I still think Bryan Rice should have won, he came in number 2, his song "breathing" was really good, but I guess I can't always have it my way.

The winner was Chanée & N'evergreen with the song "In a moment like this". That song was good as well and more the style of the usual songs from the contests, and I think its a big plus that the guy is supposedly a big star in Russia, so hopefully that will give us some more votes in Oslo in May. Usually all the Eastern European countries vote for each other, and Alexander Rybak who won for Norway last year was born in Belarus, and they got a lot of votes from Eastern Europe. I didn't like that song too much, but it pays to have your connections:)

In my opinion all countries should have their viewers vote for the winner, some countries still select a jury to choose the best songs, and that way I don't believe you will find the song that most people like, so hopefully more countries will get the viewers to vote instead... then again maybe that should wait till next year, because now Denmark has a Russian superstar singing.

Danish Song Contest

Okay I'm a sucker for the Eurovision song contest, and even more for the Danish Song Contest, and its on right now:) So the next 2-3 hours will be spent in front of the TV watching the show. I'm super excited to hear the 10 songs, and filling out my ballot. I hate to admit that I pretty much forgot it was on tonight, otherwise I would have loved to make an event of it, especially with one of my very good friends who shares my interest for especially the old songs from the eighties. But I will be watching it by myself this year, well my husband is here as well, but trust me he won't be in the living room by the end of the show, by then he will have vanished to another room with his computer.

So far the first song is okay, but if its able to win the Eurovision in Oslo in May, I don't know, I don't even know if its able to win the Danish contest, have to wait a few hours and see... I will keep you posted.
