My way to relax and a few finished projects...

One of my ways to relax, and get my mind of things is crocheting. Lately I have done quite a bit of crocheting, and not so much blogging, and it resulted in a few finished projects, and a bit clearer mind.

One of the projects I have finished is a pillow for our chair. I love the design of the chair, but it really isn't too comfortable, so you need a pillow for it to be more comfortable, and after making the blanket for my parents, I liked the pattern and decided to use that for a pillow as well.

Another few projects were a Halloween "devil" and a Kähler vase. The devil was part of an assignment I signed up for on facebook. We received a part of a recipe 5 days in a row, not knowing what we would end up with. So mine didn't quite end up as is should, because reading and understanding doesn't always follow along. But I still like the outcome and so does Jonas. The Kähler vase was because there was so much fuzz about their anniversary bronze/copper vase here in Denmark. People went wild because an Internet store had said they would put x thousands for sale on a certain date at 10.00 am, and their website went down, which lead to a lot of angry women and ended up on the news. So as a joke I made my own, it has a glass vase inside so I can be used as a real vase.

When we were in Turkey in May I bought some yarn, and had promised Jonas to make a blanket for him. You can't believe how many times he asked is it finished now... even when I only had done a few rows, and it wouldn't even cover his feet. I made it a bedspread, so it is really huge and a bit heavy, but he likes it, and this morning he dragged it through the house into my bed so we could cuddle.

Last year just before Christmas I saw a star Christmas tree carpet, and decided that before Christmas this year I needed to make that instead of the really ugly felt one we have. So have just finished that the other night, and are actually quite happy with the outcome, now I just need to wash it and stretch it.

On December 5th it's my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and I made Jonas a butterfly, I just finished that today, well almost finished it, I still need to buy so velcro for the closing. The biggest project will probably be getting him to wear it... he didn't quite mind trying it on, but I'm not sure how he feel when he has to really wear it.

So that was what I have been up to the last couple of months, no blogging but a lot of creative therapy and crocheting.

A finished project... again

I have finished yet another project. I saw a lot of people online making a really cool blanket, and had to give it a go myself, but since I didn't really need another blanket, I decided to make it for my parents. There is just something nice about making blankets, because it has a lot of little pieces, though they are all the same, but after a while you can pretty much do them in your sleep, but that also means it is really relaxing making it.

After I started it my brother saw it, and really liked the colours, and said he could use one as well, so I might have to make one more. My husband also liked the effect of the 3D, and said he wanted to keep it, so who knows how many I might end up making.

But for now it will only be the one, because as always I have quite a few projects in mind. Beside when we were in Turkey I bought a lot of cotton yarn, which was really cheap, and I kind of promised Jonas a blanket from that. But first I want to finished the cardigan for myself that I just started.

So many projects, so little time:)

A finished project... again:)

I finished another project, a pair of felted slippers for Jonas.

That was probably one of the easiest and fastest project I have ever made. You knit a "long" piece, sew it together.
They look huge, actually they fit me before throwing them in the washer.
You wash them at 60 degrees Celsius, and they come out several sizes smaller.

And here you have the finished project on Jonas. What a great look, boxers and slippers! We are potty training and not wearing pants makes it easier reaching the toilet in time:)
And last a picture of the slippers without Jonas, he found it hard to stand still for me to take a picture.

But hey wasn't that a super easy project, I think I will make some for myself as well.

A few finished projects

So last week during my vacation I had a few projects. I have now finished some of them, and here are some pictures to show for it.

I used my new sewing machine and made a pair of pants for Jonas. I didn't get a picture of him in them, but I'm quite satisfied with the result. They are a bit long, but since there is elastic in the legs it doesn't really matter. It got me hooked, and I ordered more fabric, for another pair of pants for Jonas, which will be with pockets, he was missing his pockets. And I also got some fabric for a dress/tunic for myself. Though at the moment there isn't enough hours in the day to get the sewing machine out due to other projects.

I also finished my scarf, it was really easy to make, and I am now working on one for my mum as well. I guess she need something for babysitting Jonas this next week. On Thursday he got sick with chickenpox, on Friday I was working late, which also meant I didn't have to go into work as early as usual, and Frank is usually off early on Fridays, so he went home a bit earlier than usual, and the few hours from me leaving to him getting home our sweet neighbour babysat for us. She was also hoping that her daughter would catch the chickenpox. In Denmark you don't get a vaccination for the chickenpox, but once you had it you are immune, and the earlier you get it the easier it will be getting over it.

I need to get back to the other scarf. My mum will come here on Monday afternoon and stay till Friday, and then hopefully he will be better and be ready to go to daycare next week.
Have a wonderful weekend.

An almost finished project...

Remember last time I finished a project, I showed you the yarn for a new project. Well it has been under construction for quite a while, but it seemed like when summer hit, it was just too warm to knit in the thick yarn. But now I have almost finished it, just need to fix the ends. So what did I make? I knitted a cardigan/bolero for myself...
Don't mind the stain on the t-shirt... hey it was late Sunday night, and I didn't even realise they were there until I saw the photo...

And a picture from the back...

Now I am refreshing my socks knitting skills, because tomorrow I will be "teaching" the girls in my knitting/crocheting group to knit socks. We started our little group this spring, we are 6 girls, and we meet up once a month. I really enjoy their company, and I am looking forward to tomorrow, though I am not the best teacher, luckily most of them knows how to knit, so hopefully it won't be to challenging.

DIY projects

As I mentioned in my last post I had been using some of my time on a few projects.

A couple of weeks ago my parents brought me a truck load of coffee bags... well they brought a lot, some of their friends etc. had been collecting for me as well. In there was a bunch on purple bags, which you can't buy in the stores, at least I haven't seen them, and these we "professional" I guess it's because it's used at a company for their coffee maker. Luckily they drink a lot of coffee, because I had enough for a purple purse.

I have also been crocheting patches for a blanket... well there is still a long way to go, but here is how far I have come until now.

And then I have a little extra project. On Monday it's "fastelavn" (if I use google translate it's translated to Shrovetide, which I have never heard before). But in Denmark kids dress up for "fastelavn" kind of like Halloween. So I have been making a costume for Jonas, because on Tuesday they are celebrating "fastelavn" at the daycare. I will do a post later on the whole tradition of "fastelavn" afterwards, and hopefully with pictures of Jonas, if he wants to be dressed up...

This weekend I will be at my parents house, well we will be spending the nights there, but I will be with the orchestra I used to play in. We will be playing a little, having fun and eating, so what could go wrong?
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
