I'm ready for summer

I managed to get everything done in time, and we enjoyed the visit at our friends on Friday night.

Yesterday we celebrated my birthday with our families, and had a really nice day. My mum had baked a !cake-woman" for me, she has bake one every year for my birthday, only the missing the year I lived in the USA. That is a tradition I will never give up, she bakes one for all of our birthdays, so it's easy having people over for coffee at you birthday, because mum is doing the baking:)

My parents in law and my sister in law came with really great presents, I got a lot of new summer clothes, now I just need the summer.

I can just picture myself in the black or the yellow dress walking on the beach in Malaysia... yeah our summer plans seems to have changed. We had talked about going to the USA, but the tickets are really expensive, it's actually cheaper going to Asia. A ticket to New York has almost doubled the price compared to what they usually cost. So we are considering Asia, USA will be there another time.

Could I please get an extra hour or two?

I can't believe how fast this week has gone by, and now I'm on the edge of stressing out over my long to do list.

I can almost cross out the tons of laundry and just as much ironing, the hubby mowed the lawn after dinner while I re-potted some plants. So all I need to get done by Saturday afternoon is clean the house, go grocery shopping, iron the table cloth and put away the laundry... oh and of course cook. Both our families are coming on Saturday to celebrate my birthday (though it isn't until next Friday, but I'll be working), but my sweet mama is going to bake a cake, so that won't be on my list. Though that just reminds me I need to get a belated mothers day gift and a early fathers day gift as well.

Hopefully I'll be able to leave work around 2 or 3 pm tomorrow, I will be meeting at 6 am so there is a chance. Because then I will have plenty of time to get the shopping done, and maybe some of the cleaning, before going out. We have been invited to dinner at some friends house, and that have been planned for ages, so I can't get myself to cancel it, as well as I couldn't get myself to cancel my first step class ever today. I had been signed up for the class for about 3 weeks, and was really close to cancelling, since I couldn't figure out how to get everything done. But I'm so glad I went, it was really fun, hard and sweaty... it looks so easy, so how come my feet can't follow the rest of the class? I guess I just need more practice. But after having attended the class I felt more energetic, which really was needed today. via
Housework done for today... Now I'm on the couch, with my laptop and coffee, so I'm going to catch up on all the blogs I haven't had time to read during the week.

Back from Sweden...

We just got back from Malmö, Sweden. We got the hubby's camera cleaned and had a wonderful and relaxing time in Malmö.

The weather was great, and the city wonderful. Both Saturday and Sunday night we sat outside the restaurants and ate our dinner.

We haven't done much, just relaxed, walked around the city, stopped different places for coffee or a beer. They have a lot of really nice coffee places in Malmö, pretty much one on every corner... just like the pizza places here in Esbjerg!

Yesterday we went to Lund to visit Camilla (my friend from my time as an Au Pair). I finally got to meet her wonderful son Theo, he was born last June, so he will be turning 1 soon. He was just really adorable, and the safari tractor with animals we had bought for him was a total success.

The wonderful Theo, thank God there isn't any sound on the pictures, because all you would hear was my ovaries ringing... I'm ready, but then again not ready:)

Well this post won't be much longer, even though it's been a relaxing weekend, the four hours drive back have made me really tired... Have a nice week.

Fill In The Blank Friday... and a long weekend ahead.

It's Friday, and it's time for Laurens Fill In The Blanks. Todays theme is fashion, I guess something we all can relate to... so here we go.

1. One fashion trend I really regret is my orange coloured jeans, what was I thinking, well I believe I was thinking something in the direction of "Well they are from benetton, they are cool". And why did anyone ever let me crepe curl my hair?

2. The one thing that always completes any outfit is a scarf, a necklace or a pair of earrings. The right accessories can make an outfit.

3. I would describe my personal style as hmm... I don't really have a personal style, well I mostly wear jeans, but that is just for practical reasons at work, and I don't always change when getting home. I would love to wear more cute dresses.

4. My fashion muse is I don't really have a fashion muse, or do I? Well I do admire the wardrobe of our Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, she has fab style... or maybe it's just a fab stylist?

5. If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be a pair of Manola Blahniks of course... why did that take me so much thinking? If you don't want a pair of those after watching "Sex and The City" well what do you want?

6. I would love to raid the wardrobe of that one is hard... I guess the people who's wardrobe I like I won't be able to fit into, sorry but my a** is a bit bigger than most peoples in the magazines...

7. Today I am wearing I was wearing jeans and my work shirt, but the weather was amazing when I got home, so I changed into a skirt and top and sat in the sun with a great book ("And God Created The Au Pair" I first heard of it in the fill in the blank Friday over at Erin's).

That was my blanks, now I should be packing, we are going to Sweden tomorrow and staying till Monday. We are going to get my husbands camera cleaned, in only cost 10% of what it costs here. And even better it's in Malmö, and I have a friend who lives just outside Malmö. I met here while I was an Au Pair, and last time I saw her was at our wedding. So I super excited to see her and her husband, and I get to meet her little boy Theo for the first time (she gave birth last June, so she was very much pregnant at our wedding).

Granny's chocolate cobbler

Some of you might remember my last baking disaster, to say the least I'm not much of a baker, I blame my husband! By now you are probably thinking why blame him, well he isn't much of a cake eater (after 9 years together I still don't get it). But since he isn't eating cake I don't get to practice.

But my birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and next Saturday I have invited my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my parents in law and my sister in law to dinner. Whenever we invite people over I see my chance of getting dessert (yep my hubby doesn't eat ice cream either). So the other night I was surfing online, and stumbled across this recipe.

I figured that was going to be my birthday dessert, but I wanted to try it out before the birthday dinner, just in case. So I tried it tonight, I only made half a portion, and after mixing the ingredients I didn't think it look like much. Though the finished result turned out to be a lot more than I thought midway through.

This was where I started to think that I wasn't going to serve this for my birthday. You have to pour water over the cake and not stir it... I had read somewhere that it would look weird, but you should definitely not stir... but come on... I kept hands and spoon to myself and didn't stir...

And this is how it turned out... not the best picture, but you could see the soft inside coming up in the edge and it looked really yummy...

I served it with a bit of vanilla ice cream. It was really great if I should say it myself, so this will be the dessert at my birthday dinner.

I give granny's chocolate cobbler 2 thumbs up... ask for my hubby it will be thumbs down, he tried a little bit (and that is a bit thing) and he didn't like it. So now I'm glad I only did a half portion.

Now I have figured out the dessert, now I just need to decide on the rest of the menu, but so far so good.

The game...

On Sunday afternoon we went to watch the final soccer game of the season. Our team had a chance of getting bronze medals, they just had to win with one goal more than another team playing at the same time.

Here I am all ready to go, and ready to cheer for my favourite team. Go EfB!

Since it was the last game of the season, they had to announce the winner for player of the year. You have been able to vote for you favourite player online. One of the people who had voted for the number 1 player got to fly into the stadium in a helicopter and give the player flowers. The player of the year was Nikolaj Høgh.

The game started out good, we got 1 goal, we got 2 goals and we got 3 goals...

In the break the cheerleaders were dancing, hey let's face it, cheer leading isn't the most common thing in Denmark, so they are nowhere near the lakers girls:) But they do it for free, only get their uniform, and the practice twice a week, so you got to like them.

After the break, the opponents scored 1 goal, 2 goals and 3 goals... and of course that is not worth photographing... I still can't believe how you can throw away a 3 goals lead??? Well the game ended 3-3 and we didn't get any medals this year:(

So this was me after the game, not happy!

Hopefully they will get medals next year!

A cold and rainy Sunday!

What do you do on a cold and rainy Sunday like this one?

I went to work at 8.00 am for 1½ hour, then I went to the opening off a new pet store just next to my work. They had a lot off great opening offers. So we got a few bags of cheap cat food.

And I had finally convinced my hubby that Gustav's biggest wish was a cat tower, preferably with a hammock, but they are so expensive (Yep, I'm totally thinking Gustav tells me stuff he doesn't tell my husband). One off the opening offers was a cat tower and we bought it for Gustav.

My hubby always thought he wouldn't use it, but he was mistaken. He loves it, and this might be the best thing we ever got for him, well this and his toy bumble bee from Ikea.

So on a rainy Sunday I'm enjoying Gustav's fun with his tower. And keeping my fingers crossed for the rain to stop, because later we going to a soccer game. Our home team is playing the final game this season, and they have a chance of getting bronze medals. It's only the second time the new stadium have been sold out, first time was for the opening a few years ago. I'm super excited.
